The week after Hell in a Cell was nothing less than crucial for the WWE. WWE Universe was left scratching their head after how Hell in a Cell ended and all those questions had to be answered in the four shows that Vince McMahon’s promotion produced during the week.Though that mission wasn’t a complete success, WWE delivered enough action to quench the thirst. There were new feuds that poked up from here and there making the road to Survivor Series exciting. There were no signs of Brock Lesnar as usual and it was tried to be downplayed by a newly formed Cena – Authority feud. That was the biggest news that came out of this week and here is a look at how all the other trifles affected the Power Rankings.
#25 Damien Sandow (Previous Rank 24)
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
The Stunt double stole the show once again at Hell in a Cell when it was his post-match antics that stood out rather than the efforts of Miz. WWE made strides to establish Miz and Sandow as a regular tag team which looks like an attempt to get Sandow regularly in between the ropes.
#24 Los Matadores (Previous Rank Nil)
WWE’s tag team scenario has dropped to such a low that they are now considering Los Matadores as title challengers. It’s not that there is nothing wrong with the duo as wrestler, but their gimmick make them look goofy. Nevertheless, Matadores picked up a big win this week which gets them back in the rankings.
#23 Bo Dallas (Previous Rank 20)
It wasn’t one of those weeks that Bo would remember for a long time. From being a great midcard heel, he practically became a jobber this week when he picked up three losses in a row. The first came against Henry and was followed up respectively by Ryback and Sheamus who made Dallas’ life miserable.
#22 Kane (Previous Rank 22)
The big red monster didn’t get an active in ring match at Hell in a Cell but with Triple H building up team authority, Kane will be play a bigger role. Things didn’t have a good start against Ziggler on Raw but he made up for that at SmackDown by teaching the showoff a lesson about going against the Authority.
#21 Tyson Kidd (Previous Rank 21)
Tyson Kidd is the best heel persona in the WWE roster at the moment. With the limited amount of time he is given on live television, Kidd has made it impossible to hate him and at the same time, delivers solid performance in between the ropes. He deserves a better booking for his talents and hopefully it would come soon.
#20 Ryback (Previous Rank Nil)
Ryback is back in the rankings and he returned with a bang. The Big guy is no more tied up with Curtis Axel from the looks of it and the newly found face run gave him two wins over the week. WWE might have lined up more food for Ryback in the coming weeks which will take him further up the rankings.
#19 The Miz (Previous Rank 18)
The Awesome one couldn’t capitalize on the opportunity he got at Hell in a Cell and came out losing. Sandow stealing the show is not doing any good as well for Miz who now has to put over his stunt double by being part of the tag team.
#18 Brie Bella (Previous Rank 17)
Brie saw her worst nightmares coming true at Hell in a Cell when she lost out to her sister. Daniel Bryan’s wife now has to be the personal assistant of Nikki for the coming month and it doesn’t look like the world’s best job. She drops down the rankings as a result and will struggle to improve from here.
#17 Cesaro (Previous Rank 15)
The Swiss Superman’s had a kryptonite filled week this time around as he wasn’t able to pick up a win. He not only lost out to Ziggler at Hell in a Cell, but also ended up getting beaten by a lunatic Dean Ambrose on two separate occasions over the week.
#16 Big Show (Previous Rank 13)
Show proved to be another casualty of Rusev’s rise to the top as the World’s largest athlete tapped out to the accolade. Things didn’t get better for him on Raw as well where Henry decided to lay out Show with three World’s strongest slams.
#15 Mark Henry (Previous Rank 19)
The much awaited heel turn of Henry finally came up this week as Show ended up in the receiving end of the angle. Henry also got a win at Hell in a Cell against Bo Dallas which helps him climb four places up in the rankings and hands him with a lot of new possible angles.
#14 Nikki Bella (Previous Rank 16)
Nikki along with her sister gave out a solid match at Hell in a cell which to be frank exceeded expectations. With a new personal assistant, Nikki looks set to challenge AJ Lee for the Divas Championship which would be a refreshing angle.
#13 Wyatt Family (Previous Rank 14)
After weeks and weeks of absence, Bray came out at Hell in a Cell and became the biggest talking point of the show. Bray decided to cross paths with the Lunatic Fringe and the feud looks nothing short of mouthwatering as WWE gave out the initial offerings on SmackDown and Raw.
#12 Paige (Previous Rank 11)
Paige’s pursuit of the divas championship crashed and burned at Hell in a Cell. The Brit took out her frustrations on Alicia the following night and this means that the AJ – Paige feud is finally over. The loss drops Paige one place down in the rankings with not much to be happy about.
#11 Dust Brothers (Previous Rank 12)
Goldust and Stardust came out winning when it mattered the most and proved once again that they are deserving tag team champions. The loss against Los Matadores was uncalled for but then again, WWE doesn’t have much of a choice when it comes to the tag team division.
#10 The Usos (Previous Rank 7)
The Usos take a big drop in the power Rankings due to their loss at Hell in a Cell against the Dust Brothers. The former champions recovered well from that loss in the week as they managed to piled up two wins against Miz and his stunt double.
#9 Dolph Ziggler (Previous Rank 6)
Ziggler was part of a great match at Hell in a Cell against Cesaro but failed to rise up in the rankings due to his heroics against the Authority. The Showoff was completely dismantled by Kane at SmackDown and he would be rethinking about his decision to help Cena.
#8 AJ Lee (Previous Rank 8)
AJ Lee’s strong divas championship reign continued at the expense of Paige on Sunday. The Divas champion came out on top in style at the pay-per-view and went on to secure a win against Alicia Fox on the following night which helps her keep rooted to the eight spot.
#7 Rusev (Previous Rank 9)
The Bulgarian brute made another big statement on WWE’s latest pay-per-view outing when he came over Big Show. It was Rusev’s biggest win so far and he now has set his eyes on the United States Championship which ensures some good narrative options.
#6 Sheamus (Previous Rank 10)
Sheamus came out on top with his United States Championship at Sunday where he defeated Miz. The Celtic Warrior then made an example out of Bo Dallas at Main Event before being challenged by the Bulgarian Brute at SmackDown.
#5 Randy Orton (Previous Rank 4)
Orton messed up his chance to be the number one contender at Hell in a Cell when he lost out to the Cenation leader inside the cell. The Viper now has a score to settle with Seth Rollins after that offering new exciting ground for the WWE Universe to explore.
#4 Dean Ambrose (Previous Rank 2)
Ambrose went into Hell in a Cell with only Brock Lesnar in front of him but thanks to Bray Wyatt, the Lunatic fringe has dropped down the rankings. Fans might be a bit split about the botched ending of the main event, but looking forward to the Bray – Ambrose feud, it all seems worth it.
#3 Seth Rollins (Previous Rank 3)
Rollins came out winning against Ambrose on Sunday and kept hold of his third place. it wasn’t the best way to win but for Rollins, all that matters it the aim and not the path. He now has to shake off Orton from his tail which will not be an easy task to pull off.
#2 John Cena (Previous Rank 5)
Well, it’s back to square one on this one as Cena is the No.1 contender to Lesnar’s title. He got a big win against Orton on Sunday and instead of going for the championship, Cena immediately drew battle lines with the authority ensuring a traditional main event for Survivor Series.
#1 Brock Lesnar (Previous Rank 1)
There is no reason to keep Lesnar still in the number one position apart from the fact that he is the champion. Lesnar’s absence still is a bigger problem than the Network’s commercial failure and the beast looks to set miss Survivor Series as well.
