Vince McMahon’s promotion showed a newly found desperation to boost the WWE Network subscriptions this week. This same desperation worked in favor of the WWE fans who got to see some great action between the ropes and some compelling narrative to back it all up.With just two weeks away from the Survivor Series, the WWE writers made all the right moves throughout the week to make sure that the fans went home happy. The announcement of giving out the WWE Network free for a month turned out to be groundbreaking as well. Despite all the positives, there were certain lacks of progression in the undercard feud which will have to be addressed at the earliest. It was a solid week to keep things short and here is a look at how everything affected the Power Rankings.
#25 Damien Mizdow (Previous rank 25)
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
Mizdow didn’t get his chance to step in between the ropes this time but he was selling every move in the Jimmy Uso – Miz match on Raw. There isn’t anyone credible enough to surpass Mizdow as a comedic act at this moment but that is not the only thing he needs to climb up the rankings.
#24 Adam Rose (Previous Rank 23)
For a character that showed lot of potential at NXT, Adam Rose turned out to be a waste in the main roster thanks to some ill booking. Rose showed off a different side this week on Main Event and hopefully it will be his way out of this abyss that is not doing him any good.
#23 Kane (Previous Rank 22)
The Big red monster came out delivering a big message to Randy Orton on Raw but failed to replicate the same against Ziggler at SmackDown. Kane might not have the momentum on his side right now, but the former World Champion will be crucial for the Authority at Survivor Series.
#22 Los Matadores (Previous Rank 24)
A couple of weeks back, Los Matadores was two bullfighters that didn’t make any sense to the serious fans. That status took a big change after Hell in a Cell as the team is being projected as tag title challengers by the WWE. Fernando got a big win against Stardust this week on Raw and this helps the Los Matadores to improve their rankings.
#21 Brie Bella (Previous Rank 18)
Lady luck is not smiling very bright on Brie Bella as she is getting to see the evil side of her sister. Brie was put to good use by Nikki this week on Raw against AJ Lee. The storyline could come out looking better in the coming weeks before Survivor Series but Brie’s hopes of progressing in the rankings ain’t that high.
#20 Tyson Kidd (Previous Rank 21)
Tyson Kidd finally got his shot at Monday Night Raw this week but the fans didn’t seem interested about him. Kidd gave an honest performance against the Celtic Warrior on Raw and Sami Zayn on Main Event and is rewarded with a place in the top twenty for both the wins.
#19 Cesaro (Previous Rank 17)
Cesaro is a mere punching bag for WWE’s current darling right now. The Swiss Superman suffered two defeats across the week and has dropped down two places as a result. The creative team should stop wasting such a great talent and the first step for that would be to give him a main event spot at Survivor Series.
#18 Ryback (Previous Rank 20)
Unlike the last babyface run from Ryback, his current one looks to be more credible. The quality of his opponents were much better this week around as he was fed with Titus O’Neil and Cesaro on Raw and SmackDown respectively, WW also made the break up with Curtis Axel official but what they need to do is bank on that split instead of letting it pass by.
#17 The Miz (Previous Rank 19)
Being in singles competition is letting Miz realize how much over he is with the WWE Universe. There were concerns of Mizdow being more popular among the fans than Miz but those were wiped away when the Awesome one laid out Jimmy Uso on Monday Night Raw to climb up the rankings.
#16 Big Show (Previous Rank 16)
The World’s largest athlete had some score to settle with Mark Henry this week but things didn’t turn out pretty well. He was literally destroyed by Henry after their encounter on Raw but Show will be eager to make a big comeback and may get into Team Cena at Survivor Series.
#15 Paige (Previous Rank 12)
Paige’s luck at the divas division took a big blow at Hell in a Cell when she lost out to AJ Lee. Though WWE teased an angle between Paige and Alicia Fox, it was nowhere to be seen this week which drops Paige down three places in the Power Rankings and a whole lot of ground to make up.
#14 Mark Henry (Previous Rank 15)
Henry played the perfect heel on Raw this week when he dismantled the World’s Largest Athlete. Henry went out with his head high from the show and he was so good in the destruction that he even earned the attention of Team Authority who is out there to recruit talent.
#13 Nikki Bella (Previous Rank 14)
The new No.1 Contender for the Divas championship gave out a strong performance against Emma on Raw and came out with a winning effort. She put her personal assistant to good use as well on the Show as Brie had to choose between walking out of the company and slapping AJ Lee.
#12 Wyatt Family (Previous Rank 13)
Bray seems to have split from his pack for the good. The feud with Dean Ambrose is apparently the last chance for the eater of the worlds to save his career and he made great strides in that context. The win against Sin Cara and friction with Ambrose helps Wyatt climb one place in the ranking.
#11 The Usos (Previous Rank 10)
The Usos got another title shot against the Dust Brothers on SmackDown but failed to make it count. That loss coupled with a losing effort on Raw against Miz drop the former champions out of the Top ten and without much of a big feud to talk about heading into Survivor Series
#10 Dust Brothers (Previous Rank 11)
Stardust and Goldust might not be getting the booking that champions deserve, but they are coming out on the top when it matters the most. Their Steel cage win against Usos has finally helped them to crack the top ten and more importantly get ahead of Rikishi’s sons.
#9 Dolph Ziggler (Previous Rank 9)
Choosing to side with Team Cena might be the worst decision Ziggler has made in recent times. he is a walking target for the Authority and Cena not being around this week made matters worse for the Showoff, he however survived to live another day and that helps him to stay in the ninth position.
#8 AJ Lee (Previous Rank 8)
The Divas Champion was scouting her future opponent on Raw and got more than what she came for. She had a lot of friction with Brie despite Brie’s helplessness and once the champion steps in between the ropes to face Nikki; it will be the same Brie who will be a triumph card that decide the match’s ending.
#7 Sheamus (Previous Rank -6)
The Celtic Warrior had nothing to remember over the course of last seven days as he had a perfect losing record. His first loss came against Tyson Kidd on Raw and then the big blow came after the Show when he lost out his United States Championship to Rusev.
#6 Randy Orton (Previous Rank 5)
The Viper’s career took a big u turn on Raw as he went toe to toe with the Authority. The pack led by Seth Rollins laid out Orton big time but from what we know about the apex predator, he is going to come back and when he does, it’s not going to be good for the ones that went against him.
#5 Rusev (Previous Rank 7)
Rusev’s character was attracting a lot of heat for his anti- American antics till now but all that went to a whole level post – Monday Night Raw where the Bulgarian Brute captured the United States championship. The big win gets Rusev into the Top five and he has no intentions to leave anytime soon.
#4 Dean Ambrose (Previous Rank - 4)
Ambrose was seen playing mind games with Bray Wyatt as expected and he did it without losing any of his momentum. Most of the superstars would struggle to keep going with the presence of Bray stalking over, but Bray overcame that and secured a win against Cesaro which helps him stay in the fourth position.
#3 John Cena (Previous Rank 2)
It was a lazy decision from WWE to let Cena skip a week. He is a crucial part heading to Survivor Series and even though his absence wasn’t felt, not having Cena was a narrative blow to the company since he has to recruit three members into his team in just two weeks.
#2 Seth Rollins (Previous Rank 3)
The amount of faith that WWE creative has in Seth Rollins was clear as a day on Raw. He efficiently took out Randy Orton from the equation with a vicious curb stomp and looks set to run rampage on whomever Cena choses as part of his team at Survivor Series. The impact helps Rollins to reach second in the rankings.
#1 Brock Lesnar (Previous Rank 1)
The only thing that’s holding Lesnar to the first place is the three wins he got throughout the year. Yes, the guy has only wrestled three matches throughout 2014 and still has a better ranking than superstars who impress more than three times in a single week.
