The Wrestlemania match-card looks more or less set. There will be fillers for a PPV that can go well up to four hours but this is the time of the year where the main event storyline is not the only storyline that has a lion’s share of screen time. This is the time of the year when many co-main events are declared. And they will most definitely feature a part time superstar.WWE is surprisingly moving along well and creating enough buzz for it premiere kind of show. Here’s ranking the best storylines going forward.
#5 Rusev VS Cena/ Undertaker VS Bray Wyatt
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
‘A lesson in respect’ may be the common theme playing for both these feud. Both of the matches haven’t been officially announced yet but they feature two of the biggest faces in the WWE and two realtively new and promising superstars on the main roster. Rusev is completely nonchalent towards Cena’s legacy and Wyatt is redoubtably claiming that he’s the new face of year and essentialy Undertaker is old news. Old news may still be bad news for these superstars as they are set to face them on the biggest stage of them all with the maximum attention
This will be a test to see if they’ve got what it takes.
Whoever wins or loses, it is no doubt paving a lot of attention towards Rusev and Wyatt.
#4 #UseYourVoice
AJ Lee swiped the red carpet off Stephanie’s feet after calling out on the gender inequality in the company via twitter. THis may or may not lead to a feud at Wrestlemania. But it more or less brings some attention towards the womens division and anticipation gathers as to what WWE is set to do now that McMahon declared on Twitter that they do ‘hear you’.
The storyline may just take non-fictional details into the fictional realm and it may just have AJ Lee either talking about it when she returns or she may actually have a match against Stephanie.
Can AJ Lee face Mcmahon at Wrestlemania? Will she be back until Wrestlemania? Will Paige win the title at Wrestlemania? If there are so many questions, that means some amount of interest has made its way into the women's wrestling department.
This week has brought some much need attention to this division and it’ll only be better if the powers that be give women more time to wrestle and develop their storyline.
The #GiveDivasAChance trend has elevated the division this week to stay above the developing feuds between Rusev-Cena and Undertaker-Wyatt.
#3 Roman Reigns Vs Brock Lesnar
Right now, this hasn’t caught up much fire because Brock Lesnar hasn’t been around to showcase his dominating presence. The one thing that’s sellig this feud is Paul Heyman’s mic work and Bryan giving his blessings to Reigns. Heyman will go on putting Reigns over and then tearing him down and Lesnar will certainly look down upon him. After all he’s beaten Undertaker and John Cena. His perspective will be ‘What and who does Reigns even think he is?’
The fresh booking as this is a match up never seen before the coronation of Reigns as the face of the future will keep the attention from waning for this feud.
#2 Sting vs Triple H
This will be Sting’s debut match in the WWE and that too at Wrestlemania. Triple H puts on his boots for the first time since putting Bryan and The Shield over. This is sort of a dream match and it has seen some spectacular build up and old school booking of Sting’s gimmick as a silent badass and as The Vigilante - The only hope against the tyranny of The Authority.
Triple H is the villain and he claims that this is more about WWE vs the already dead WCW. And Sting is trying to avenge Triple H for being involved in ending a brand that Sting was loyal to.
The only setback is that Sting hasn’t yet spoken about why he wants to face Triple h himself. Triple H can speculate all he wants, what will set things clear is Sting’s intention.
#1 The Intercontinental Championship
Please, oh please, don’t let this one fail.
For the first time in years, the Intercontinental title is gaining back its prominence. Smackdown was all about developing the burgeoning prestige of the title. Ambrose is the young star who wants make the title worth fighting for and now we have Bryan eyeing it and if Bryan is here, can Ziggler be far away. Barrett is a villain one will boo in this situation full with faces. And R-Truth will make things hilarious and hence entertaining.
This mix of superstars fighting for the title has made this storyline the most interesting in the past week.
And in the end, Ambrsoe may be credited with bringing back the title back into the reckoning. That’s something awesome for his young legacy.
