Good timesThe main roster and NXT are two different worlds. At NXT, gimmicks and wrestlers are given time to hone their craft and bring out something awesome. The main roster is cut-throat and ridiculous at points. But there have been some NXT recruits who've had a successful first impression and have continued to be impactful on Raw and Smackdown and PPVs.That achievement can't be boasted by many. Daniel Bryan and AJ Lee do not make the list since they were in a reality type version of NXT. This list includes just the performers in the developmental territory when it became NXT.Here are the top 5 NXT recruits on the main roster
#5 Paige
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
She had one of the most stellar debuts in the main roster where she received two of the biggest pops of the night- one, when she made a surprise appearance and two, when she defeated AJ Lee for the divas Championship.
Paige hasn’t yet achieved the anti- diva heights that she did at NXT but her presence significantly brought up the quality of matches. Not to forget, she’s the youngest Divas Champion in WWE history and she’s already won the title twice.
In the 2 years since her debut, she’s yet to have a memorable feud but there is always room for better moments to happen. She’s just 23 so the sky is the limit for her.
#4 Rusev and Lana
Well, they might’ve been higher on the list had they not been embroiled in a saga with Summer Rae and Dolph Ziggler.
The foreign heel is an oft used gimmick and not many have lasted long in it these days given its predictability and repetitive nature but Rusev and Lana thrived and survived and till date are two of the best performers in the roster.
Rusev is not only great in the ring with his psychology being at par with the best, he’s also a great actor in the realm of WWE. Lana is also a great actor. During her time managing Rusev, she became one of the best characters to look forward to.
#3 Bray Wyatt
The Wyatt Family has been one of the best gimmicks WWE has had to offer in the past 2 years.
And Bray Wyatt as the eerie, haunting leader is a compelling role. Though the main roster hasn’t handled the initial team split in the best way possible, it has handled the eerie nature of Wyatt very well. His cryptic video promos and the fascinating nature of his presence have all come out really well.
Now, they have a new follower and all of that hasn’t disappointed till now.
#2 Kevin Owens
It was quite an entertaining moment to see Kevin Owens surprisingly make way for John Cena’s US Title Open Challenge.
It was even better news that he was soon going to be a regular on the main roster pertaining to the injury suffered by Rusev. WWE needed a big guy who could move like a cat. Over the course of his WWE career, from December 2014 in NXT and till now, he’s gathered fans in legends like Stone Cold Steve Austin and Bret Hart.
He’s also already had a memorable feud with Cena. The man defeated Cena in his debut match at a PPV. He’s right now engaged in an entertaining feud with Cesaro.
#1 Seth Rollins
Rollins hasn’t spent more time at NXT, but he’s spent a great deal when the developmental territory was known as FCW.
But history will let you know that Rollins was the first ever NXT Champion- a title held by Bo Dallas, Neville, Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens and now Finn Balor. He had a great role to play in bringing some attention at the developmental area of things since he and Dean Ambrose came with a great indie reputation.
Ambrose never was part of NXT like he was part of FCW. Rollins is the first ever WWE World Heavyweight Champion and US Champion- the former of which he won at WrestleMania in a moment which will be talked about for ages. He’s the one who broke the Shield.
Till date, the best recruit from NXT
