It wasn’t one of the most remarkable Raw’s, it was surely better than the past two editions. One thing sure well stood out and that is the momentum of Seth Rollins. Rollins may have been on the receiving end of the SuperCena juggernaut but Cena faded away from the limelight while the spotlight was on Rollins. He stood tall by the end of the night and he looked strong heading into the Royal Rumble.Other than that, here are the five promising developments from this night-
#5 Lesnar and Rollins Chemistry
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
Well, it’s better than the chemistry Rollins shares with John Cena. For once, Lesnar sells the Curb Stomp really well. He hasn’t been on the receiving end of this finishing move quite often as Cena but the couple of times that he has received it, he’s done well to sell it as a devastating move. And for once, this isn’t Cena facing Lesnar for the fourth time trying to redeem himself from the way he was squashed at Summerslam. Rollins’ presence speaks volumes as there is a storyline in play. Heyman shook Rollins’ hand a few weeks back and now Mr Money In The Bank’s involvement is a threat to his client’s title.
#4 Bryan vs Stephanie
Sure Daniel Bryan overcame the Authority last year and that was one heck of a story but his biggest nemesis wasn’t Triple H or Randy orton or Batista. It was Stephanie McMahon. If Bryan was the best babyface on the roster,Stephanie was the best heel. And as Bryan was announcing his intentions to win the Rumble, Stephanie came to the ring and kind of renewed that rivalry. This rivalry should be recognized as one of the pivotal rivalries in WWE history even if they would never wrestle each other.
Stephanie not only promoted her fitness DVD, she also promoted Smackdown taking place on Thursdays.
#3 Booking Ambrose
Though, Ambrose is not really in the best spot there is for any rising superstar, he somehow is getting featured on the main roster and competing on Smackdown, probably to get more viewers tune into Smackdown. He lost another match but the night saw a hilarious segment backstage between him and a psychiatrist. His answers were hilarious. Though WWE did go a bit overboard with having Ambrose turning the therapist into a nutcase. But overall, this might make him more popular with the casual fans. And this might really signal towards the Royal Rumble being a significant PPV for him.
PS- WWE has done a good job of having Ambrose actually sell his injuries from past bouts. be it a shoulder injury by Rollins or a knee injury by Wyatt.
#2 Rusev\'s heat
Rusev and Lana continued to be significant heels in the roster. While it was always awkward to see foreign heels speak in English, Rusev is not boring to hear, even if he gets the ‘What’ treatment. He had a good match with Ambrose in the little time given to them but the segment made both stars come out looking strong and apt to their gimmicks. Rusev surely won’t win the Rumble, he may as well be eliminated by Ryback, who shall return by that time but his character is one of the rare success stories for an NXT rookie.
#1 Macho Man in the Hall of Fame
They built it up throughout the night to atleast have me believe that the Authority might spoil the party and get more heel heat. But it was finally made crystal clear- Macho Man Randy Savage is the first inductee into the Hall of Fame Class of 2015.
This ends years of waiting and speculations for the reasons that have kept him away from the HoF. WWE made a grand stride towards the Road To Wrestlemania with this announcement.
