Cool picture but not a cool storylineThis was an episode of Raw where pretty much nothing worked. Sure there were some moments, but the bad overpowered the good pretty darn easily. All the more reason to be angry is the fact that the show took place at Chicago, a place with a hardcore wrestling fanbase.Kane and Seth Rollins are embroiled in a feud that nobody, honestly, doesn’t care about. It may have been really cool to see Kane turn to the Big Red Monster Kane, but this storyline doesn’t have the intriguing factor to sail it through Hell in a Cell. Doesn’t matter how good the performers involved in this feud are. Here are the 3 things that did not work from this week’s show -
#3 Roman Reigns Promo
This was sad. This was awkward. This happened at the wrong moment. Roman Reigns has been enjoying a great few weeks of momentum, much thanks to his main event match against Bray Wyatt a few weeks back and that extremely brief yet significant promo against Bray Wyatt on Smackdown.
But then Creative went ahead and gave him a long, never ending promo where he was trying hard not to forget his lines but he still messed up. To top it off, this happened in a city with a very hardcore fanbase.
Just plain unfortunate.
#2 The Divas Tag Team match
What was this?
This wasn’t a memorable match at all. Nor was there any particular character development. The main roster just continues to book all its talented divas together. They’re not giving away anything meaningful. Not with this match at least.
There was no psychology, no logic much like this very disappointing ‘revolution’. Charlotte’s already a paper champion. There is no visible exciting feud for the championship she holds at present.
#1 Kane in 2015
However much you suspend disbelief, anybody could have guessed what was going to unravel on Raw involving Kane. Corporate Kane swerves The Authority then turns into Demon Kane to make Rollins’ life a living nightmare.
It’s all unbelievable but it’s still pretty dumb. The night ended with Kane standing tall but at this point in Kane’s career, it’s a bit impossible to be enthralled by whatever he’s been made to do. This storyline is actually pretty unconvincing and unintriguing.
And to top it all, it has the WWE World Heavyweight Champion involved in it.
