The recent edition of Monday Night Raw was highlighted by many great individual performances. Of course, anything that is promising has to have a good performance here and there but while there were a few segments that could have been doomed to begin with, these individual performances saved the segment and the night. Here are the promising developments from Monday Night Raw.
#1 Wyatt Is Here
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
‘The Champ’ was there too. He actually started the show being far from the excited demeanor that he usually has on. A lame plug to the WWE app followed with the frustration Cena is feeling lately towards the WWE Universe. And of course he teased a heel turn. This was the beginning of, arguably, the best segment of the night. Bray Wyatt scared the hell out of Cena and WWE owned the segment with the creepy quotient. Creepy is the new cool in the WWE as long as Bray Wyatt and his family stays on.
“He’s got everybody here in his hands…”
#2 The dedication of Damien Sandow
The guy just can’t catch a break. The Coen Brothers should make a movie on him. This week he was dressed up as Magneto in a segment with Hugh Jackman done for laughs. But, it was not a disaster. Thanks to Sandow and the charm that Jackman possesses. Sandow is just terrific on the mic. He’s a natural. He just becomes his character. That’s a hard find in the WWE, anyday. Why the WWE is not giving him a serious spot is just plain stupidity.
#3 Stephanie McMahon tries to bury the hatchet.
Haha. Not really.
Stephanie McMahon doesn’t want to give Daniel Bryan a break. Her denial at his popularity is just perfect for her heel character. Men may fight Bryan and leave vanquished but Stephanie McMahon is not a man. She’ll be after Bryan long after he’s done with Kane. She was as usual great in a not so memorable segment but it was just setting ground for what was to follow
#4 Brie Bella as a Damsel in distress
So the WWE is at it again but the damsel in distress formula seems to work everytime. While Paige and Bella were engaged in decent match, the most dramatic moment which the entire match and segment by Stephanie was building up to was Kane’s interference which was good enough to send the crowd home with some awe. Bella might play an important role whenever the WWE runs out of ideas and she’s doing a great job at it.
#5 The feud
The feud getting the MVP treatment is between the Shield and Evolution. This feud might be a way to get Roman Reigns a huge push but the highlight of this segment or rather match was the return of the Nature Boy. Why was it promising then? Because it was a decent closure to Raw just days before Extreme Rules and if anything, Roman Reigns is still not ready to go solo. He should just be in a team for now. The moves that the WWE seemed to have bestowed upon him to magnificently showcase might just get stale soon.
