Satellite CenaThis was a surprisingly decent show that WWE managed to dole out. Sure, it had its usual theme of Seth Rollins not shutting up and the Divas ‘Revolution’ angle and some formulaic tag matches and some pointless matches but all in all they are working well towards Summerslam. This is a big PPV, the build up of it has to be pretty elaborate as well. The entire card should look entertaining and till now it sure does look that wayThere were things that did not work at all and there were things that did, Here are the three things from the three-hour show that did seem to work well
#1 Brothers vs \'Family\'
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
Even though this is an oft- repeated storyline but it’s the only thing working for the feud between the 2/3rds of both The Wyatt family and The Shield. Roman Reigns and Ambrose are brothers and even though Harper and Wyatt call their stable a family, it’s pretty clear they are not.
Even when the Shield was together in its original form, there was no clear cut leader. The Wyatt Family, like its name goes, always had a leader. The emotion in this is that Reigns and Ambrose are brothers in arms and their brotherhood and friendship is genuine than the man and his follower they are set to face.
The Shield in its original form had never defeated The Wyatts.
#2 Cena Via Satellite
As absurd as it was, this was quite funny and Seth Rollins played his part and Cena’s voice via satellite part pretty well. Cena’s voice (which was actually Rollins’ voice) reminded me of South Park, the delivery of it was hilarious. He changed Cena’s ‘Hustle, Loyalty and Respect’ motto to ‘Surgery, Recovery and Rehab’
Rollins singing lores about breaking the nose of the face who runs the place is really working its charm. The opening segment is always long but this one worked for its little absurdities.
And Cesaro and Owens made their way out later on which is always a welcome sight
#3 The Green Arrow and The Red Arrow
The comic book theme is alive and kicking and it was quite entertaining to see Stephen Amell’s reaction to that uncalled for attack by Stardust. Admit that seeing Amell hop the barricade jump on the apron and leaping into the ring and sprinting towards Stardust brought a smile to your face.
That’s some surprising athleticism for an actor and his backstage segment with Triple H was decent as well. And we got the catching line for this team – The Green Arrow and The Red Arrow. It’s funny but it’s also appropriate. Works pretty well for this already entertaining supervillain and superhero storyline.
