This was not just any Raw. This was the Raw AFTER Wrestlemania. And this wasn’t just any Wrestlemania. This was the Wrestlemania where the future of the WWE turned into its present. Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar was going great on its own, but it got much better as Seth Rollins became this era’s ultimate opportunist and cashed in his Money In The bank. What followed was history in the making. Rollins is now the new holder of the biggest prize in the WWE and that guaranteed that Wrestlemania ended on a grand, grand note.Hence, Raw began with all the drama from 24 hours ago continuing and shaping up new things. Here are the five promising developments from this Raw-
#5 F-5 City
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
Lesnar and Heyman came out to a huge ovation and they darn near had the show held hostage. They wanted a rematch and when they did meet Rollins later on in the night, Rollins was unperturbed about not giving them a rematch right there, right then. Lesnar won’t have any of it and he chased after him. Seeing the beast rampaging towards him, Rollins ran away, since he’s a pro at running away. The brief exchange between them was very entertaining.
Lesnar then went on to F-5 Michael Cole to the delight of the crowd. Before that he just rammed the announce table on JBL and Booker T and then F-5ed the cameraman twice. Also, he got suspended by Stephanie McMahon.
He was like a Giant crushing everyone with his mere touch.
#4 New Feud ALERT!
Daniel Bryan defended his title in front of a very hardcore crowd against another hardcore fan favorite by the name of Dolph Ziggler and they just owned the show. This match was better than any of their previous encounters. And that is saying something since everytime they’ve met in the past few weeks, even at Wrestlemania, they have created a frenetic atmosphere.
This match came on the heels of the head butt barrage they went through atop a ladder at Wrestlemania. They got a standing ovation even before the match ended. This match was stiff, it was technical, it was dramatic, it was everything.
#3 Heel ALERT!
Sheamus returned just when Bad News Barrett got ready to attack Ziggler and Bryan. Barrett ran for his life but there was something strange about SHeamus. Firstly, he had the kind of mohawk which reminded me of Robert DeNiro’s character in Taxi Driver called Travis Bickle. If that isn’t much of a heel alert clue then what is. Well, he went on to kick the taste out of Bryan’s mouth and then decimated Ziggler. The crowd gave him the desired reaction, that of a villain. It was perfect!
#2 A little bit of NXT
The Lucha Dragons made their debut against The Acension and clearly had a great night. It was a stellar debut which saw Kalisto execute the crazy moves that he’s known for in NXT. Also the crowd was happy to have these NXT guys in the main roster and responded with loud ‘NXT’ chants.
All in all, it was a fun match.
But the much more fun part came soon after as a video package for Adrian Neville’s debut aired on Raw. That amplified an already energetic night. The Man that gravity forgot is going to be on Raw.
And he did come on Raw beating Axel in a match with the RED ARROW.
He has a superhero gimmick by the way.
#1 Another great match
Don’t know how long they’re going to keep Ambrose in the kid card but his match against John Cena was great. It looks like he’ll eye the US title now and that will make the US Title picture legit with Cena and Ambrose fighting for it. Ambrose is greatly over with the crowd, there are no doubts about it but one has to think that while his brothers are in the main event, he has the task of rejuvenating the mid card titles without really winning the titles. Really, Ambrose hasn’t really won a PPV match in his singles’ career post the breakup of The Shield.
But for now, enjoy the feud between the face who still runs the place versus the man who should run the place.
