Raw last night saw a lot of interesting developments, as the WWE creative started building towards the Survivor Series pay-per-view. Surprise appearances, exciting matches, great twists, the episode had it all. After all that went down in last night’s episode of Raw, it has left the WWE universe wanting much more in the future. With the expectation of interesting segments in the future, here is a look at 5 promising developments to come out of Monday Night Raw this week.
#5 Orton\'s not going to settle
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
Orton continued his phenomenal mic work this week in a backstage segment with Triple H and Stephanie. That one promo was enough to bring the entire storyline to the fore and resulted in a chaotic finish to Raw which saw Randy Orton take on everybody in the Authority.
It was a dramatic conclusion to Raw as the whole moment of Orton’s face turn unravelled in such surprising fashion and that too in a good way. That confirms he won’t be part of Team Authority.
#4 Surprise visit
Tyson Kidd made his way to Raw for a match against Sheamus. Of course, the chances of him winning were next to nil. But yet, he had a good match against a behemoth like Sheamus. There were many wrestlers who had so much potential but were let go by the WWE.
Kidd’s progress was marred by injury and then made his return slowly but steadily, becoming a part of Total Divas and then went on to become a really important character on NXT. He main events NXT these days and that is quite a rise.
#3 The Mizfits
The Miz and Mizdow storyline has been one sleeper hit. Nobody really expected Sandow to have a career resurgence this way. His dedication to the most ridiculous of gimmicks has really paved the way for his comeback. The Usos, a babyface team who get many positive reactions from the crowd, actually got booed after they kicked Sandow.
That shows how over this guy is and how much he contributes to the entertainment value of the match/ segment. His journey will be very interesting to watch.
#2 The slow build up
Dean Ambrose had a third match with Cesaro in two weeks. Their match on Raw last week wasn’t really a match and their gimmick match on Smackdown ended up being very entertaining, which was a pleasant surprise given the props that they had to make use of.
This week, they had another decent match in which Cesaro ended up being on the losing side. Right now, Cesaro is not involved in any storyline. The story that came out was the one between Ambrose and Wyatt, which wasn’t overdone or overexposed. It is taking its own sweet time and that is okay, given that these two are the best mic workers around right now. When it all does come out though, it’ll be worth the wait.
#1 The Countdown begins
Two Words. Vince McMahon.
The Chairman of the Board made his way to the ring to the delight of the crowd and he seemed happy to receive that welcome. He went on to make a major announcement for Survivor Series. The winner of the Team Authority vs Team Cena match will decide the fate of The Authority. If The Authority loses, they will no longer be in power. That was probably the biggest setback that The Authority storyline have faced since coming to the forefront more than a year back.
