This picture is more brilliant than the way Sheamus’ character has been written so far. After the stellar Raw last week, there were not many complaints of what did not work.Everything in that show was there for a reason and one understood those reasons. This week, WWE could not carry the momentum from last week and we’ve had some moments that needed some work in putting themselves over. The reason why this matters is because there are some really talented performers involved who WWE are pushing so much, but even the said push is invalid if they don’t get a great story or some noteworthy promo material to back it up with. Here are the 3 things from last night’s show that did not work-
#1 Charlotte\'s promo
The one thing that the main roster hasn’t been able to succeed with is making divas like Paige and Charlotte look like convincing babyfaces.
The Nature Girl was so much better at what she did in NXT. If you’re going to put her over again and again as Ric Flair’s daughter then you ought to realize that Flair’s career turned out legendary beacuse he was a heel and a great one at that.
Charlotte’s promo after the fatal four way match was awkward just like any of her previous promos. And Paige thrived as a heel and her post match promo was better than the champ’s promo. Paige comes out looking like the more entertaining performer and that is not something you actually expect in this very eveil vs good situation.
#2 Del Rio Vs R- Truth
Alberto Del Rio is a tremendous wrestler and he brings up the levels of any match that he’s in.
Basically, if you put him in a big match situation or against any other good wrestler, you will get a great match out of it. But there’s just something missing in Alberto Del Rio – the character.
Even after Zeb Colter as his manager, one can’t hide the fact that Creative’s been less than creative about him when it comes to the storylines he is involved in or whatever he has to do apart from wrestling.
His momentum is clearly fading away. But they’ve made jack Swagger enter the scene – which may be promising if booked properly.
#3 Sheamus, again
Well, the tag team scene on the main roster is infinitely talented, but we don’t see any compelling storylines coming out of it or feuds that really light up the arena.
Sheamus and King Barrett are a team now and have had so many matches together as the flag bearers of Europe. They faced Lucha Dragons this week and lost, which was a bit surprising. Surprising because, well, you have the King of The Ring 2015 and Mr Money In The Bank 2015 joining forces.
Speaking of Mr. MITB, he’s already less interesting than half the roster, which is a shame.
