It was the first Raw after AJ Lee’s retirement and Brock Lesnar’s suspension and it more or less did develop and plant some new storylines. For starters, the divas are still getting their well- deserved time to showcase their talent. And Seth Rollins is still the best heel in the company right now though he has some competition from Sheamus. All in all, the road to Extreme Rules is well set. We know what our main event is going to be. We might as well get to know the rest in the coming week. Here are the five promising developments from this week's Raw.

#1 NXT lives on at RAW

There is no doubt now that NXT is getting bigger and bigger, it’s greatness will spread across to the main roster. This week Seth Rollins faced the man that gravity forgot. It was a match made in marking out heaven. And it did not disappoint. Though Neville took the loss, after all, why would you have your Champion take a defeat this early into his title reign?

But it was Neville’s second match on the main roster and this match showed that he belonged there. More than that, this was also a battle between two former NXT Champions. NXT’s legacy lives on in the main roster and it was a proud moment for everyone who celebrate theexistence of NXT and also independent wrestling.

#2 The Open Challenge

John Cena winning the US Title and his streak of open challenges may just produce a great story. It is a tough act and challenge as he defended his title for the second Raw straight in another good match.

This week it was Stardust’s turn and if Cena continues this streak of good matches, it’ll definitely help his reputation as far as his wrestling skills are concerned. Over the past couple of years, Cena has churned out a lot of great matches and this open challenge does well to accentuate that fact.

Also, it’ll be great to see someone actually beat Cena during one of these open challenges. That’ll be a surprise and probably a great moment. Maybe have someone from NXT come and beat him?

#3 Heel Sheamus is a Revelation

Why oh, Why was Sheamus a babyface for such a long time?

Everything from his entrance theme to his promos to his matches have elevated his villainy and may quickly turn him into the best heel in the company. He just exudes arrogance and savagery. His nonchalance of being amongst the likes of Ziggler and Bryan just aptly fits his newfound character.

And because he has the protocol build of the WWE, because he regards hardcore fan favorites like Ziggler and Bryan as minnows and because he goes on and on about it will get him great heel heat even from the hardcore fans- just like a villain should.

And add to that, the stupid yet cool look Sheamus now possesses. It stands out and it makes for some spectacular presence.

#4 Someone New

Bray Wyatt may lose matches eventually but there is no taking back from him when it comes to promos or a build up. The one thing that’s great with Wyatt isthe journey towards a big PPV.

It really seems that he’s swiping aside his loss to the Undertaker and despite that loss calling himself the new face of fear. But now, he’s focusing on someone new. And the cryptic nature of this promo, the mystery has made it something to be followed as a storyline. We want to know, who’s on Wyatt’s list now!

More clues, please!

#5 The first Roadblock

And so it happened. Randy Orton won the chance to face Rollins at the main event of Extreme Rules. This makes him the first opponent in hopefully a series of opponents. The story is in place, but we all know that the story between Lesnar andRollins is much more interesting and it is only apt to have Lesnar take his rematch against someone he thinks is slimy and disgusting. Who can compete to that vivid description other than the two- faced 28-year-old by the name of Seth Rollins?
