WWE RAW August 11, 2014: 5 Promising Developments

If the mission of the final Raw episode before Summerslam was to establish a strong build up for the PPV then I would say, Mission Accomplished! Most of the hyped matches had stellar performances by the individuals involved. Raw, for the most part, was a triumph except the news of Robin Williams passing away momentarily bought forth an air of sadness while watching Raw.Here are the 5 Promising Developments for Summerslam.

#1 The Master

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

Paul Heyman is one of the few characters in the WWE who never disappoints on the mic. Week in week out, he gives one enthralling performance after another. Rest assured that his expressions or any other actions at ringside in the main event of Summerslam will add much more drama and meaning to the already exciting clash between the Beast and the Cenation leader.

#2 Cesaro\'s not a loser

Cesaro surely lost to his former partner Jack Swagger. But this match did not have a clear loser as far as both their performances are concerned. Swagger got a decisive victory in a good match to elevate his momentum come Sunday. Cesaro, on the other hand, looked every bit dangerous and assertive. This a great move by WWE. They’ve made Swagger look strong without hampering Cesaro’s momentum after Wrestlemania 30. This unlike many WWE mid card matches, where the loser mostly looks weaker. Such a way of handling two talented superstars should be the norm.

#3 New Life

The Wyatt-Jericho feud has not impressed yet. But on this episode of Raw, they had a spurt of new life into their feud. They had an interview with Cole where Cole did not do most of the talking which turned out great by the way.

Wyatt and Jericho came out looking the best we’ve seen them yet and this energy might just have made the outcome of their match at Summerslam seem more effective.

#4 The John Cena we\'ve never seen before

If you are one of Cena’s detractors and have been waiting for a heel turn, this is the closest he has ever come to embracing it. He not only mentioned it, he promised that he will become one at Summerslam. Because to beat the beast, one needs to be a beast. This is arguably one of the best Cena promos and it falls in that elite list. Nobody has had a consistently awesome rivalry with Cena since Punk. But these once in a while rivalry with Lesnar seems to be working out very well.

#5 The Heelness

The segments with Brie Bella were nothing new. But there was a part of me which felt really bad for Brie Bella accepting her fate of getting arrested in front of McMahon. That made Stephanie get a plethora of boos. That just accentuated the heel energy that Stephanie has been ensuing in the past one year.

This has been a very well hyped feud. And as far as Stephanie’s history with matches, this is expected to deliver as well.
