Cesaro Vs CenaLadies and Gentlemen, Brock Lesnar is not even in the building. So, Seth Rollins decided to kick off Raw being Oprah to his comrades, giving away smartwatches, cars and vacations. The night ended with a ridiculous match featuring all three Shield members. WWE seems to be using all the former three members when they have nothing much creatively for the main event storylines. This week featured another stellar set of sequences featuring John Cena’s US Title Open Challenge. Every other storyline ranged between these two aforementioned series of events. So, here are the 5 promising developments from this weeks show-
#1 That Chemistry
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
Nope, we aren’t talking about Ziggler and Lana.
Cena and Cesaro have never had an awful match. All their matches have been PPV worthy, ‘Match of the year’ candidates. This night wasn’t any different. These two put on a show for the ages. It went on to reinstate Cena’s recentstature of putting on great matches. It’s no small feat. Look at all the great matches this year and Cena may be in half of them.
And it’s a delight watching Cesaro having a singles match. Such tremendous strength and such spectacular wrestling.
And on the top of that Owens was on commentary.
Speaking of which....
#2 Owens\' prize
Kevin Owens teased a match against Cena for the US Title but backed out. He is facing him at Battleground so why even bother now. So, the man walks over to the announcers table and just adds a lot of entertainment to an already entertaining match.
He interfered in the end, costing Cesaro the match. It was interesting because he attacked both Cena- his arch enemy and Cesaro. It symbolized that the US Title is for Owens to take and nobody, not even Cesaro, can come close to it, let alone win it.
This just means that Cesaro, Owens and Cena are going to have atleast one match in the future.
And that’s obviously going to be great.
#3 Paige vs Alicia Fox
Even if they’re not Cena- Cesaro and even if they’re not given the time and importance like Cena vs Cesaro, these two always put up a decent show compared to what the main roster divas are made to dole out.
The wrestling here was very well done and it’s always a pleasure to see Alicia Fox wrestle. She is, as often stated, one of the most underrated wrestlers on the roster.
If the Bellas are complimented for improving their in-ring skills, Alicia Fox falls in that category as well, since she began by knowing nothing about pulling off a wrestling move.
#4 The Stiff Heel
Sheamus is the new Mr.Money in The Bank but he’s also a good heel. He’s a heel first and then an MITB winner. Seeing his match against Neville, you understand how he’s thriving in the moment. He began his heel run by running over guys like Ziggler and Bryan- ones he thought were ‘small guys’. And now, in this match, he was running over Neville.
That continues his heel run in a convincing manner.
And Neville is spectacular beyond belief. If Sheamus has a dominating build, Neville has the speed which the Celtic Warrior does not possess as much. This match did not really hurt anybody’s momentum.
#5 Reigns vs Wyatt
This is one of the better Wyatt feuds in a while. The theme has been established- it’s jealousy, it’s competition. Wyatt says that he was never his father’s favourite child. And he’s picked up the common topic attached with Reigns that may find some understanding with the hardcore fans. Wyatt says that Reigns is the chosen one and the one pinned to succeed.
Wyatt won’t let that happen. At all. This feud may be better than the last two feuds he had with Undertaker and Ryback. This seems to have a longer potential.
He follows all of that with a chilling line- ‘Anyone but you’
