WWE Raw Preview: 21 March, 2016

He holds the torch

The DevilThe distance to WrestleMania will be cut short by one more week on Monday night. After an eventful outing last week, WWE would be looking to build upon this momentum and deliver something memorable this time around. The three main matches for WrestleMania would be the major attraction this week as well. Also read: WWE RAW Results - 21st March, 2016Things have picked up thanks to the return of Roman Reigns, while the ‘passing the torch’ moment involving Mick Foley and Dean Ambrose has sparked a new level of excitement among the fans. There are some interesting developments in the mid-card as well. With another potential blockbuster RAW coming up, we’re going to take a look at the major talking points with our weekly Raw Preview.

#5 The torch has been passed

He holds the torch

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

Mick Foley and Dean Ambrose shared some screen time last time on Raw. The segment was an instant hit and ahead of Ambrose’s bout with Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania, it was just what WWE needed. Foley, a hard-core legend known for his bloodbaths in the past, is just what WWE needed to hype the brutal No Holds barred match between Lesnar and Ambrose.

Ambrose received a great gift from Foley on Raw and this gift would have a huge role to play in the coming weeks. WWE would allow Lesnar and Ambrose to get physical before WrestleMania and hopefully it will happen this week on Raw.

#4 Lana causing chaos

Lana has the limelight

Lana getting a WrestleMania match ahead of talents like Natalya is something that most fans are not happy about. At the same time, they are happy to see a second Divas match on the card. As for Lana, she has been making good use of the limelight with some impressive moves. Last week, she drew battle lines with Alicia Fox, Brie Bella and Paige while aligning with Team BAD.

We could easily get a six-diva tag team match for WrestleMania but the storyline is still not fully baked. Some solid developments should be made this week on Raw and as fans are hooked into the whole Lana angle, WWE should make good use of the situation they have in hand.

#3 Comedy or Tragedy?

New face stable in town

The League of Nations delivered a brutal beatdown to New Day past week on Raw. The angle did two main things. Firstly, it put over New Day as a stable that the fans could love and secondly, it made the fans hate League of Nations. Now that the face-heel alignments are clear, WWE could build up a solid storyline for WrestleMania.

New Day is outnumbered as things stand and there is a chance of including one more superstar into this mix. Even if WWE does not do this, it wouldn’t be a problem. New Day is effective as a trio and they have the capability of carrying the feud forward without a new addition.

#2 Filled with conflicts

The devil

The feud between Undertaker and Shane McMahon is filled with conflicts. And fortunately, conflicts are what make a good storyline. The major conflict of this angle is the power struggle between Vince McMahon and Shane McMahon. Vince chose Undertaker as his representative for WrestleMania but this has resulted in another conflict as Undertaker is not a guy that likes to work under somebody.

In short, it is a big mess but there is always an excitement when we think about the potential fallout of this match. The slow pace of the feud is hurting the build-up and WWE should think about addressing this problem this week on Raw.

#1 Faith in Roman Reigns

The scapegoat

Roman Reigns made a return to WWE television last week. Although there was an initial pop for the Samoan Superman, it soon morphed into jeers. WWE’s idea was to keep Reigns off television so that they could get a big pop for him when he returns. This did happen, but they failed to predict the fans in the longer run.

Reigns is going be bombarded with jeers when he picks up the microphone next and unless WWE does not come up with some major announcement, this feud is going be flushed down the drain at WrestleMania as it does not even fulfil the basic needs of a wrestling storyline.
