Some might say that WWE delivered the goods at TLC but the majority of us know that Vince McMahon screwed up big time at the pay-per-view. Dean Ambrose was made to lose to a television monitor and John Cena’s run as Superman without kryptonite continued as well.If that wasn’t bad enough, Big Show got much too cleanly over a hot Erick Rowan and the tag team championship match ended in disqualification. What’s done is done now but the company won’t have any room for error when they hit the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for Royal Rumble. The Road to WrestleMania will kickstart officially at the pay-per-view and here is a look at some of the things that WWE should avoid.
#6 Honorable Mention: Batista returning and winning, again
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
This would probably be the worst nightmare of wrestling fans who will be tuning into Rumble. Even after Batista achieved some fame with the Guardians of Galaxy, he is in no condition to win the Rumble again and headline WrestleMania, period.
#5 Ryback ending Rusevs run
Ryback and Rusev look all set to have a head on collision at the pay-per-view. WWE has done a great job building up the feud so far and has given both men enough screen time to make their stand clear on the storyline.
The Bulgarian brute’s run without being pinned is clearly the biggest thing on the line, while the United States Champion is only at second place in this regard. All will be eager to know if Ryback would be the one to pin Rusev or not.
However, WWE shouldn’t let Ryback do that unless they have something big for him in the future. And since Ryback is not going to headline WrestleMania this time around, it’s better if they stick with Rusev winning.
#4 Authority ruining Cena Lesnar match
One thing that will be returning alongside the Authority is their botched interferences. Hunter and his party poopers are known for ruining wrestling matches throughout their history and they would’ve ruined nearly 90 percent of the bouts in 2014 if given their way.
After Lesnar showed up near the Authority on RAW last week, there is a rumor of the two being aligned together to take out John Cena.
If Triple H decides to drop by the Rumble main event to interfere in the Cena – Lesnar match, it would be chaotic to say the least. No one would want the last battle between these two ending badly and this will be sure to ruin the mood.
#3 Daniel Bryan being the first entrant
Though it sounds like a good story to let Daniel Bryan enter the Royal Rumble in first position, it isn’t. Bryan comes into the match fresh off an injury which even the doctors couldn’t figure out properly.
He had a surgery but Bryan was still suffering from some problem. He is definetly making a big sacrifice by stepping in between the ropes once again and WWE should not heavily rely on Bryan to deliver the goods.
He might not be able to last a whole hour in the match no matter how crowded it is. Entering late is the ideal choice to keep the fans buzzing and also at the same time protecting Bryan.
#2 Not letting Paul Heyman cut a promo
In case you didnt figure it out yet, The Royal Rumble will be taking place in Philadelphia. And in case you dont know about Philadelphia, it was the cult city where ECW grew up. And In case you dont know about ECW, well, then pretty much no one can save you.
The fans in Philadelphia are known for being unforgiving and if there is anyone in the current WWE roster who could shut them up, it is Paul Heyman.
Every single person that will come in for the pay-per-view will have an immense amount of respect for Heyman and if WWE doesnt let the Evil Wrestling genius cut a promo at some point, then Vince would have a lot of trouble keeping those rears on the seats.
#1 Roman Reigns winning the Rumble
Earlier in a list that mentioned things that ‘should’ happen at the Royal Rumble, Roman Reigns winning it was included. However, since Daniel Bryan has returned to the scenario Reigns should not be even in the picture to win this year’s Rumble.
If WWE lets him win it now, it would only be a career suicide for the Samoan. He will be performing in front of the rabid fans in Philadelphia and if there is anything they are famous for apart from being legendary, it’s for crucifying the pretty boys.
To be frank, Reigns is not the best wrestler around and if WWE lets him win the title even after having the option of Daniel Bryan, then it would only make Reigns look weak.
