More Stardust, Please!Smackdown was a better show that WWE aired this week, as far as focus on present feuds and present stars go. Even the Divas division had a lot more material to delve into than what they were given on RAW. This week, there were some good matches to invest your attention in and a promising debut that happened on the Blue brand instead of the red. As Hell In A Cell nears, some finishing touches were put into feuds and some replays oft played, to keep the story getting enough attention from the audience. Here are the 3 best moments from this week’s Smackdown -
#1 Tyler Breeze debuts
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
While WWE should shift away from who’s dating who and stop putting Dolph Ziggler in all these sagas, there can be no doubt about how welcome it was to see Tyler Breeze’s debut. He came out looking and being treated as a big deal.
Now that Summer Rae has got a new man, they should focus more on making these two seems like a convincing wrestler- manager duo and give Summer more material to work with. She’s always been great with whatever she’s had, though off late, she’s been only made to look like a sexy sidekick.
Also, it’s great that Breeze gets to face Dolph Ziggler as part of his first feud on the main roster.
#2 Rollins Vs Cesaro
It’s always spectacular to watch Cesaro wrestle. This week’s Smackdown had the man they call the ‘Swiss Superman’ in action against the man who is okay calling himself ‘Shawn Michaels Version 2, but better than the original’.
There was Stardust with his allies The Ascension sitting amidst the audience with a ‘Stardust Section’ sign. Cesaro vs Stardust may be a pleasantly surprising feud.
Also, how great was it to see Cesaro execute two beautiful dropkicks, a crossface and that stellar uppercut near the barricade! The man just can’t be ignored. You just can’t get bored watching him wrestle. Ever.
Rollins character also came out well, initially hesitating to walk away like he did on RAW and on many other occasions in the past. Ultimately he couldn’t help but walk away only to be brought back by Cesaro, then taking the advantage by ramming Cesaro onto the barricade and then the stairs.
#3 The New Day
New Day for quite some time have become the best part of every show they’ve been a part of. This week on Smackdown after Kane and Rollins had another uninteresting, repetitive interaction, Kofi Kingston and Big E stood in front of Kane indignantly with their ‘XW’ arm bands in support of their boy Xavier Woods who has been put through a table on multiple occasions.
Their diatribe included them calling themselves unicorns and calling Kane ‘BOOTY’. That led to Kane booking a very generic main event between them and Ambrose & Reigns.
New Day may be the most entertainingly ridiculous acts on television and possibly the best music critiques.
