WWE SummerSlam 2014: 5 storylines to follow till the pay-per-view

Most of the WWE fans believe that the company starts planning for their big four pay-per-views from the start of the year itself. This year however was entirely different as they encountered a big road block in the middle of 2014 when Daniel Bryan got injured.Almost all the plans that WWE had in place for SummerSlam werereshuffled after that and new storylines started sprouting from then on.The creative team was quick to putall these plans into action once Battleground ended in a way that the fans didnt want themto. The period between Battleground and SummerSlam will be crucial for the company to improve their buy rates and here is a look at some of the storylines that is worth keeping an eye on.

#5 The Nation of Dominance 2.0

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

After a long time, the WWE finally seems to be doing something meaningful with the midcarders. On the episode of Raw which followed Battleground, WWE teased a renewed version of the Nation of Dominance when Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods and Big E joined hands.

R-Truth and Mark Henry also seem to be in line to join the potential faction that might turn out to be a big angle post SummerSlam. If that is the plan that WWE is having, then all the wrestlers involved are going to make impacts leading to the pay-per-view and probably at the show as well.

A blast from the past is never bad for the WWE Universe and it could also help these wrestlers have some credibility at this part of the year.

#4 Brie Bella\'s return

Those who tuned into Monday Night Raw this week witnessed Stephanie McMahon getting arrested thanks to some well-timed efforts by Brie Bella.

Brie was receiving a lot of great response from the WWE universe and most of it had to do with how strong the creative team had managed to build the Authority as heels.

Stephanie was the main reason why Brie was pushed back into the crowd and at the same time, the fans blamed her for terrorizing Bryan when he was fit. Bella might get the chance to unload these emotions all the way to SummerSlam.

And it will be a to and fro battle since Stephanie is someone who can’t keep quiet after being embarrassed like this.

#3 This is my House

Paige and AJ Lee have started to show their real potential once the WWE let the former turn heel in a well rooted segment. There was a sense of hardcore jealousy in the way that Paige attacked AJ and this looks to be the foundation for the feud.

AJ on the other hand is a full-fledged babyface right now and is a character that she loves to play. Well defined dynamics for a match at SummerSlam would make the buildup more interesting unlike the last time when these two were projected as friends waiting to explode.

If the company gives some microphone time to both the divas, this is sure to keep the fans on the edge of their seats and give something for the divas division to hang on to.

#2 Fall of Cesaro

This is apparently not a storyline similar to the others mentioned in the list but considering how over Cesaro was with the fans, anything involving the Swiss Superman could attract eyes.

After losing out on the Intercontinental title and Paul Heyman taken away from his side, Cesaro is at getting booked as though he is Alberto Del Rio.

Both Del Rio and Cesaro are technically brilliant wrestlers but are lacking a push from the creative team. Del Rio might be stuck in the situation for a long time unlike Cesaro who could climb out of this when Lesnar goes back to hibernation.

Till then, the way he is booked would be instrumental in him being in the spotlight.

#1 Wrath of Ambrose

It cannot be stressed how important this feud has been for the WWE so far. When all the big names were missing from the main event, it was these two that restored some balance by delivering an intense angle.

The first stage where they wooed the WWE fans was at Money in the Bank when these two stole the show in a match which had names like Kofi Kingston, Rob Van Dam, Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger.

More effective angles followed Money in the Bank and this prepared the WWE fans for an epic battle at Battleground. Since that didn’t happen, SummerSlam is the next big thing that the fans are looking forward to and again, Ambrose and Rollins could overshadow all the big names with their buildup for the match.
