What if it comes down to this? The match card for the 2015 Survivor Series might not look like much. In fact, in comparison to the cards that we’ve had in the past few years, there is certainly something lacking this time around. However, low expectations are always good when a wrestling pay-per-view is put together.WWE has announced five matches for the pay-per-view so far and the card is sure to grow by two once the night kicks off. A traditional Survivor Series five on five elimination match and the WWE Championship tournament final will add more firepower to the card and above all, there is the 25th year celebration of the legendary Undertaker. The pay-per-view is just days away and we take a look at the full match card, its analysis and predictions.
#7 Dolph Ziggler vs. Tyler Breeze
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
WWE did try to build this up as a good mid-card angle, but for some reason or the other, this hasn’t clicked properly with the fans.
Tyler is finding it hard to fit into the main roster while the hostile environment created by the WWE Universe is doing him no good. Ziggler, on the other hand, is lucky to be at least in the card.
He had a heroic performance at last year’s Survivor Series card and this time around, he is relegated to a feud that no one cares about. Both Ziggler and Breeze are excellent in-ring performers so the match will be something worth watching. Breeze is likely to walk away with a win here, as he needs it desperately so that he could stay relevant.
Prediction: Tyler Breeze wins
#6 Charlotte vs. Paige (Divas Championship)
The Charlotte vs. Paige feud got a much-needed boost due to the controversial angle on Raw.
Whether it was right or wrong, people are talking about the match and it is ultimately going to benefit the two divas when they are going to lock horns at Survivor Series. Charlotte has attracted the sympathy of the fans following the segment, whereas Paige has attracted the heat due to the same.
Battle lines are well defined here and once the opening bell rings, it would be an emotionally charged battle between these two. Frankly, the match can go either way, but Charlotte is most likely to retain the title as WWE wouldn’t want to make her look bad so early into her reign.
Prediction: Charlotte wins
#5 Predicted 5 on 5 Match: Team Usos vs. Team New Day
It seemed like WWE was going to Survivor Series 2015 without a traditional elimination match in it.
These fears were put to bed when WWE announced that there will indeed be a traditional elimination match on Sunday Night. WWE, however, did not announce the contestants for the match, leaving it to the imagination of the WWE fans.
The most likely teams for this match are Team Usos and Team New Day. These two teams currently have a solid angle going on and using it for Survivor Series would make sense. The Usos could team up with Cesaro and the Dudley Boyz to take on New Day, King Barrett and Sheamus.
WWE could then put over Cesaro as the lone survivor. These 10 men are too valuable to be kept away from the show and that is why they feature here.
Prediction: Team Uso Wins
#4 Brothers of Destruction vs. Wyatt Family
The 25th year of Undertaker at WWE will be marked by a match between the Brothers of Destruction and Wyatt Family.
This match could have been a whole lot bigger if WWE had gone with a four on four elimination match. Instead, they chose the two on two tag team match. The match does carry a truckload of expectations which will have to be met when the time arrives.
There are quite a few twists and turns that WWE could introduce, but if they are going to play it safe, Undertaker and Kane will walk out of Survivor Series with a clean win over the Wyatt Family.
Just for the sake of giving Taker fans a nostalgic Survivor Series moment.
Prediction: Brothers of destruction wins
#3 Kevin Owens vs. Dean Ambrose
This match has all the potential to steal the show on Sunday. Both Owens and Ambrose are seasoned performers and have a cult following in the WWE Universe.
They could tell an excellent story inside the story, but at the end of the day, it would be hard to pick a winner from this two. Ambrose and Owens deserve to be in the final, but only one of them could progress.
Owens is currently the Intercontinental championship, so losing out to Ambrose in the Semi-Final might not hurt him much. A loss for Ambrose meanwhile could be disastrous. Also, Ambrose progressing to the final opens up a handful of other options. So as much as I would love to see Owens in the final, the prediction goes in favor of Ambrose.
Prediction: Ambrose wins.
#2 Roman Reigns vs. Alberto Del Rio
Roman Reigns vs. Alberto Del Rio is a clear no-brainer. If WWE wanted to make Reigns lose, they would have done it at Raw against Cesaro.
Now that he is in the semi-final of the tournament, Reigns is going to progress easily into the final by defeating Del Rio. This does not mean that the match is going to be a bad one. Del Rio and Reigns will put together a class act for the wrestling fans and Reigns is likely to take some punishment from the Mexamerican.
But just like with that of Owens, Del Rio has the United States Title around his waist. A loss is not going to hurt him much on the longer run.
Prediction: Roman Reigns wins
#1 Predicted main event: Roman Reigns vs. Dean Ambrose
A clash between Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose in the final is what the WWE fans want.
It would make the money spent for Survivor Series worth it and WWE could have a long list of options up their sleeve. They could turn either Reigns or Ambrose heel at the show or they could even use Sheamus during the bout.
With Seth Rollins out of the picture for a long time, the WWE championship deserves a high profile feud and Roman Reigns vs. Dean Ambrose delivers just that. Choosing the winner here is a tough job.
But the edge goes to Ambrose. This is because, the fans will treat Reigns as a heel even if he wins cleans. Instead, WWE could let Ambrose win and then let Reigns do an actual turn rather than make him a new version of John Cena.
Prediction: Ambrose wins
