Survivor Series proved to be the stage for some excellent individual performances. And it wasn’t surprising because of the pay-per-view’s tradition of producing similar results throughout its rich history.Dolph Ziggler and Seth Rollins were clearly the stand out performers of the show but unfortunately for them, Sting’s debut stole all the headlines. A moment of that magnitude was sure to overshadow everything that happened at the show and all those names looking to make a mark on the PPV stage were left in disappointment. The next opportunity for the roster to shine will come at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio on December 14 when the WWE will bring their annual TLC. Since there isn’t a ‘big’ moment like Sting’s debut to ruin the day, everyone would be coming in with all guns blazing. So here is a look at some of the superstars that could shine at TLC.
#5 Ryback
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
Ryback went into Survivor Series as though he was an unstoppable train from the movie. However, despite this momentum, the big guy was the first one to be eliminated from Team Cena.
They did sweat a bit to make the elimination happen but at the end of the day, Ryback’s run came to an abrupt end. There are apparently big plans in the making for his future and WWE will have to build him from scratch for the same. The match against Kane at TLC is designed for that.
Kane has been nothing less than a glorified jobber for the past year and he would probably do the same job against Ryback at TLC. WWE will make Ryback look dominant over the big red monster and the chairs stipulation sets the stage better for executing the plan.
#4 Bray Wyatt
A match between Dean Ambrose and Bray Wyatt isn’t about winning and losing, it’s about telling a story, and both men did just that at Survivor Series. WWE plotted a great climax which pushed the feud all the way to TLC and that too into a more violent match.
Bray wanted to bring out the monster inside Ambrose last time but at TLC, it’s going to be a whole different story. He would be determined to get an upper hand before the year ends because it has been a horrible one for him.
It started off bright with the Daniel Bryan feud but went low due to the episodes with John Cena and Chris Jericho. Ambrose is the only hope for Bray to be back in relevance and with the Tables, Ladders and Chairs stipulation in place, Bray has all the ammunition to shine bright.
#3 Damien Mizdow
Isn’t it obvious? Mizdow has been over with the fans for a long time now and the Tag Team Championship win that came at Survivor Series was WWE’s way of acknowledging the crowd response.
The Miz and Mizdow angle will probably run all the way to next year’s WrestleMania with both men facing eachother at the granddaddy of them all. But before that, there is a need to build up some friction between the two. They are yet to find contenders for the championship and Usos look like the favorite to get the pick.
The match for the Tag Team championship is sure to be a solid and entertaining one and Mizdow in particular would stand out just like he has been for the past couple of months of WWE programming.
#2 Luke Harper
Harper attracted critical acclaim from his Wyatt Family days itself. He was probably the most polished superstars from the trio and had a wealth of Indy circuit experience to go with it. Harper breaking out as a singles superstar was expected and his Intercontinental championship win materialized that.
The reign took a backstage at Survivor Series due to the Authority – Team Cena match that headlined, but he will probably have the first major title defense at TLC.
Ziggler is clearly the best choice to face Harper at TLC due to the amount of quality that these two men have been producing. Ziggler does have a lot of momentum after being the sole survivor at SS but that will not be enough to take the title away from Harper.
Winning a quality match at the pay-per-view will work wonders for Harper and he is sure to have a great outing at the Loans Arena.
#1 Seth Rollins
Sting debuted, Ziggler became the sole survivor, but another person who had a great outing at Survivor Series was the Architect himself. He was instrumental for Team Authority and had a part in eliminating almost all the members of Team Cena.
The last sequence he had with Ziggler was top notch as well and quality was oozing out of every move. John Cena, Randy Orton or a triple threat match with both men are the possible paths available for Rollins at TLC.
No matter which path WWE decides, Rollins will stand out. There will be no doubts about the brilliance in his match and if WWE also lets him get a win over Cena or Orton that would stamp Rollins’ main event status.
