Excitement is at its peak as we are just one week away from the granddaddy of them all, WrestleMania. Vince McMahon has drawn out a decent looking card for the pay-per-view and what matters now will be the execution of the same. The past seven days have been a very busy one for the rumor mills. A lot of rumors about how WrestleMania will shape up sprouted from the same while there are some interesting speculations about what will happen once the biggest show of the year is wrapped up by WWE.The entire landscape of WWE is going to change next week, but before that here is a look at the best rumors of last week and their analysis.
#5 Undertaker to call out Sting after WrestleMania
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
The dream match we’ve been waiting for years might just happen at next year’s WrestleMania. Undertaker is scheduled to face Bray Wyatt at Mania 31 when Sting will face off against Triple H. Both superstars are expected to come out of the pay-per-view with a win, which in turn would set up the dream match.
If we go by the rumors, on the night after WrestleMania, Undertaker will call out Sting and challenge him for a match at WrestleMania 32. The angle would make a lot of sense and it is a match that deserves a one year buildup. The biggest concern in all this would be the fitness of the superstars. Both men are in their fifties and one wrong move in this year’s match could crash and burn the entire plan.
#4 Brock Lesnar vs. Rock for WrestleMania 32?
While WWE is pushing the idea of Undertaker vs. Sting for WrestleMania 32, Brock Lesnar vs. Rock match looks likely to be in the card as well. Lesnar’s contractual talks might still be in progress but WWE is planning ahead with a big lot of hope on the same.
The internet is buzzing about how Brock mentioned defeating Rock as a rookie and sending him to Hollywood. Many believe that the promo was aimed at pushing a match between the two for next year’s Mania and if that’s the case, WWE needs to do two things. 1) Convince Rock to have another match. 2) Make Lesnar sign a new deal, even if it only brings him back for Mania.
If either of the conditions doesn’t happen, then it is lights off for the idea.
#3 Surprise Hall of Fame headliner
If you thought that Macho Man Randy Savage was going to headline this year’s WrestleMania, I got some bad rumor for you. Kevin Nash is apparently close to getting a spot in the Hall of Fame as Diesel and is expected to headline the class.
If the rumors are indeed true, then it will be a big mistake from the company. First of all, Savage had a much better career than Nash. He was on par with Hogan at a certain time frame and it would only be fitting to give him the recognition.
Even though this doesn’t matter, here goes: inducting him as Diesel is WWE’s idea of saving the Kevin Nash name for later so that they could induct the NWo into the Hall.
#2 John Cena and Bryan to win titles at WrestleMania
John Cena and Daniel Bryan will take a step down from their usual outings and will be challenging for mid-card titles this year at WrestleMania. Cena has the chance to snatch the United States Championship from Rusev in a one on one match while Bryan has to fight off multiple men in a ladder match to become the Intercontinental championship.
According to the rumors, WWE is planning to let both superstars win the gold at Mania. This would serve as a great boost to the mid-card title scene and will especially be a fresh approach for Cena.
At the same time, WWE also has plans of making Cena and Bryan the focus of WWE if Lesnar signs a new deal, speaking of which…
#1 WWEs plans if Lesnar stays
Lesnar’s decision about his future in WWE was clearly the biggest rumor last week. A couple of weeks back, Lesnar was almost sure to walk out of the company but things have lightened up a bit. WWE is expecting to tie Lesnar to a contract on Monday Night.
Vince is planning something big for the one behind twenty one and one and if Lesnar signs the deal, he will retain the championship at Mania and in turn bury Reigns. Afterwards, Lesnar is expected to remain as a part- time champion while the programming will be pushed forward by the midcard champions mentioned earlier in the list.
As far as the fans are concerned, seeing Lesnar sign a new deal will be great but they would want more involvement from him as a champion.
