WWE Top 5 Rumors of the Week and Analysis: 26 April, 2015

Extreme Rules is just hours away and while the WWE was busy plotting all their master plans for the pay-per-view, the internet was busy buzzing about some rumours that came out. The post – Extreme Rules period was the main debatable topic this week as WWE is teasing a handful of possible feuds.Elsewhere, Daniel Bryan’s injury status proved to be a standout rumour for the second week in running. News about the trainers in Tough Enough was yet another talking point that deserved a place in this week’s list. So, as we gear up for Extreme Rules on Sunday, here is a look at the top five rumors of this week and their possible outcomes.

#5 Trainers in Tough Enough

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

The WWE Tough Enough show has been in the news lately after Triple H’s announcement on Monday Night Raw. Although the excitement about the show in between the WWE fans is not as high as WWE would like, it is sure to change once WWE announces the trainers for the show.

The internet came up with some names this week and if they are right, we might get to see the likes of Edge, Taz and Christian in this year’s show. Taz was earlier linked with WWE after his release from TNA and apparently, he will work as a trainer in Tough enough, rather than being behind the announcing table.

Edge and Christian are still in good terms with the company, so don’t be surprised if you see these three in the show once it kick starts.

#4 Bray Wyatts new opponent

The Bray Wyatt fans out there would be hoping to see him lock horns with either Roman Reigns or Randy Orton after Extreme Rules but unfortunately for them, WWE has different plans.

According to the latest rumors, all those cryptic promos that Bray pulled off was about Ryback and the two superstars are supposed to be in a feud after Extreme Rules. If it happens, then it will be a real step down for Bray since Ryback has no momentum whatsoever. WWE has been giving him some squash wins, but he is nowhere near what Bray would have wanted after facing the Undertaker at WrestleMania.

This however is still a rumor and anything could happen at the pay-per-view on Sunday.

#3 Bryan likely to miss Extreme Rules and Payback

Daniel Bryan’s injury situation is getting worse with each passing week. Last week, there were hopes of seeing him defend the Intercontinental championship at Extreme Rules but as things stand now, Bryan might miss the show altogether.

And not only that, he might also miss WWE’s next pay-per-view outing, Payback. It is indeed a big blow for WWE due to Bryan’s championship reign as they were planning to make him the backbone of weekly programming alongside John Cena.

There is a big chance of WWE stripping the title off Bryan and the next choice to be champion would make matters interesting.

#2 Samoa Joe to start in NXT from June

The rumors of Samoa Joe making it into the WWE gathered a lot of momentum last week when he met with Triple H. Joe was also backstage in the latest NXT tapings and if things go according to the speculations, we might get to see Joe in NXT from June.

Joe recently came out and said that he would love to face Brock Lesnar someday and even though Joe is not getting there, the WWE fans is sure to get a taste of what he is all about in the coming months.

Joe’s addition will be a big boost to the roster that already has the likes of Finn Balor, Hideo Itami, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.

#1 Triple Threat for Payback

Randy Orton and Seth Rollins is all set to headline Extreme Rules for the WWE championship and Randy’s role in the championship scene is likely to run all the way to Payback.

WWE is apparently planning a triple threat between Roman Reigns, Randy Orton and Seth Rollins for the pay-per-view. Reigns is currently in a feud with Big Show and the actual plans was for him to feud with Kane afterwards. Thanks to the cold reactions that WWE Universe gave to the Reigns –Show feud, WWE decided to invest Reigns in the title picture instead.

With Bray settling with Ryback, this match is bound to be exciting. Add in some Lesnar into the mix, and we get a perfect combination to sell tickets.
