WrestleMania 31: 5 Celebrities we would love to see at the pay-per-view

If pulled off correctly, WrestleMania is the best platform for celebrities to make an impact in the WWE. Mr. T started the trend with the inaugural WrestleMania and names like Mike Tyson, Muhammad Ali, Floyd Mayweather, Jr. and many more came in and went out after making a big impact.Despite the immense amount of potential in such appearances, the line between making it a success and screwing up things is pretty thin. This needs to be kept in mind by Vince McMahon as he prepares himself for yet another WrestleMania show. To make the road to WrestleMania more interesting, here is some of the Celebrity appearances that the fans would love to see this year.

#5 Jon Stewart

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

Let’s start off with the most obvious one here. Jon Stewart has been a major component in the WWE programing for the past couple of weeks and unlike all the other celebrities that came around, Jon was someone who respected the wrestling business.

He knew to produce a fan friendly wrestling promo and buying a ticket for someone like this to WrestleMania wouldn’t be a gamble. He could get involved in the Seth Rollins match to some extent and make sure that his appearance at WrestleMania doesn’t go wasted. If that is not the case, he could also serve as special guest announcers or even be the host of the pay-per-view even though the host doesn’t have big responsibilities.

#4 Hugh Jackman

If there is anyone out there in the Hollywood who is eager to jump in between the squared circle, it has to be Hugh Jackman. To get the facts right, he has made a couple of appearances in the WWE and is also known for his big challenge against John Cena.

Letting Jackman drop by during the WrestleMania period would give WWE some free and effective press. WWE should not however jump in and let Jackman have a match out of nowhere as it could make the fans question the pay-per-view’s credibility. A one off appearance, on the other hand would be perfect and even if he interferes in some match, no one is going to jeer the Wolverine, are they?

#3 Chael Sonnen

Chael Sonnen has been in talks with WWE for a potential appearance at Mania but a decision is yet to be reached on the same. There are also rumors about Sonnen being interested in taking up an announcer role in WWE for the long term and since he is known for being a trash talking MMA guy, it would be an interesting setup.

And to make matters more interesting, there is JBL. The company could tell a much better story with the Sonnen – JBL duo than what they do with the current announcers. All these would happen provided WWE accepts Sonnen as an announcer, but if Vince has other plans, then we could see some physical matches in the company.

#2 Ronda Rousey

After her 14 second win over Cat Zingano, Ronda Rousey is back under the mainstream spotlight. Her love for professional wrestling is not a big secret and letting her show up in the biggest possible stage as a celebrity guest would once again boost WWE’s chances of roping her in at one point or the other.

She could easily fill in as an enforcer for the divas match or could even be the special guest referee for any of the match. WWE might not be interested in providing a platform for UFC stars but then again, Vince McMahon should understand about the market he has and the possibility of having some UFC eyes tune into WrestleMania.

#1 Wayne Rooney

No, this is not a random name to make up the list; this is actually the real deal. Rooney’s love for the wrestling business was evident through his Twitter rant recently and we saw how he created friction with Bad News Barrett. Barrett and Rooney both belong to England, so it wouldn’t be a tough job to put these two into an angle at WrestleMania.

For the sake of believability, the company can keep a tab on the physical involvement of Rooney but at the same time, it should not be too cold since Rooney is known for being a hot head in the field. A full-fledged confrontation with any of the wrestlers would do the trick for both parties.
