WWE WrestleMania 32: 5 Wrestlers with an undefeated streak

AJ surrounded by 13 other divas at WrestleMania XXX

One of the greatest streaks in sports entertainment historyIf you are in the sport of wrestling it is rare that you will remain undefeated. Nevertheless, several wrestlers have proved this statement wrong and have remained undefeated for months and some for years. Some popular streaks include Andre the Giant being undefeated for almost 14 years! Goldberg’s 173-0 win record at WCW and many more. Outshining all of them, was Undertaker’s WrestleMania streak of 21-0. Unfortunately, all of the above-mentioned streaks have been broken. When it comes to WrestleMania, fans remember Undertaker’s undefeated streak and fail to recognize that there are several other wrestlers who are undefeated at WrestleMania as of now!! Today, we take a look at some of these wrestlers.

#5 AJ Lee (2-0)

AJ surrounded by 13 other divas at WrestleMania XXX

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

The only diva in this list. The second-longest reigning Divas Champion in WWE history, AJ Lee has won 2 matches at WrestleMania. In her WrestleMania debut match in 2014, she won a 14-woman Divas Championship match ( set by SmackDown general manager, Vickie Guerrero ) and successfully retained her championship. The next year, at WrestleMania XXXI, she teamed up with Paige and defeated the Bella Twins in a tag team match. AJ retired from wrestling within a few days of this event.

AJ also has another unique record at WrestleMania. In her first 2 WrestleMania appearances, AJ Lee assisted Daniel Bryan and the team of Dolph Ziggler/Big E as a manager at WrestleMania XXVIII and XXIX respectively. Unfortunately, both times, her allied wrestlers suffered defeat at the grandest stage.

#4 Shane McMahon (2-0)

Shane O’Mac fought his father at WrestleMania XVII

Rarely in a company do we see the Chairman’s son fighting for opportunities to outperform other wrestlers. But, as WWE fans, we have witnessed these, a lot of times. This streak may be the reason, Vince McMahon decided to put his son, Shane in a Hell in a Cell match against The Undertaker, to make sure that his streak comes to an end.

Shane has appeared as a wrestler in 2 WrestleManias before and won in both cases. In his first WrestleMania match (WrestleMania XV), he defeated X-Pac to retain the European Championship with an assist from Triple H and Mean Street Posse. In his second match, he defeated his father, Vince McMahon in a Street fight at WrestleMania XVII.

The question on every wrestling fans mind right now is, will the streak extend to 3-0 this year?

#3 Ax Demolition, 3-0)

Demolition – Ax (on right) and Smash (on left)

The team Demolition has a loss at WrestleMania. Despite this, one of it’s members, Ax, is undefeated at the event. In Demolition’s first three matches at WrestleMania, the team of Ax and Smash defeated their opponents but in their fourth match at the grandest stage, the team of Smash and new member, Crush lost to the team of Tenryu and Koji Jitao at WrestleMania VII.

This undefeated 3-0 streak of Ax consists of a victory over the team of Rick Martel and Tito Santana(Strike Force) at WrestleMania IV for the tag team titles. At next year’s event, they defeated Mr.Fuji, the Warlord and the Barbarian in a 6-man tag match. At WrestleMania VI, Ax and Smash defeated Andre the Giant and Haku in a tag team championship match.

At 68 years old, Ax is unlikely to return for a WrestleMania match, hence his 3-0 streak will remain intact!

#2 Legion of Doom (3-0)

The only undefeated tag team in WrestleMania history

WWE Hall of Famers, the Road Warriors Hawk and Animal a.k.a Legion of Doom are undefeated at the grandest show. The team won all the 3 tag matches in which they participated across 3 different events. After their debut in mid-1990, Animal and Hawk’s first WrestleMania victory came at WrestleMania VII, when they defeated the team of Hercules and Paul Roma(Power and Glory).

6 years later, they won their second WrestleMania match teaming with Ahmed Johnson to defeat the Nation of Domination(Farooq, Crush and Savio Vega) in a Chicago Street Fight.

Their third and final victory came in WrestleMania XIV, after they won a 15 team battle royal by last eliminating The Midnight Express to become #1 contenders for the WWE Tag team championship.

#1 Rob Van Dam (4-0)

Rob Van Dam after winning the second ever Money in the Bank contract match

RVD is one of the best high-flying wrestlers to step inside a WWE ring. The only unified WWE Champion and ECW Champion, RVD also has an impressive WrestleMania undefeated streak which stands at 4-0 ( he lost a Sunday Night heat tag match prior to WrestleMania X9, but WWE doesn’t recognize SNH as a part of WrestleMania, so it is considered that he is undefeated at WrestleMania ).

In WrestleMania XVIII, RVD defeated William Regal for the Intercontinental championship. With Booker T, he won the Tag championship in a Fatal 4-way match at WrestleMania XX. 2 years later, at WrestleMania XXII, he won the Money in the Bank contract.

In his last WrestleMania match, next year, he teamed up with Sabu, Sandman and Tommy Dreamer to win a 8 man tag match against Elijah Burke, Kevin Thorn, Marcus Cor Von and Matt Striker.

RVD is not under contract with the WWE, but if he someday makes his return to WrestleMania, it will be worth checking out if the streak becomes 4-1 or extends to 5-0.
