Big blow for BrayThe closer we get to WrestleMania, the higher the frequency of the rumors we hear about the show of shows. The pay-per-view is so large in magnitude that is it almost impossible to not talk about it and the past week was no different. There were talks about the appearance of Bray Wyatt at the pay-per-view after he showed up against Brock Lesnar at Roadblock.Meanwhile, the appearance of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson was a subject of discussion on the internet. Multiple-Divas tag team match and a split announce crew were the other major WrestleMania rumors. Here is a detailed rundown on all these rumors and its potential impact on the show.
#5 Status of Mick Foley
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
Mick Foley appeared at last week’s Monday Night Raw but no major developments were made about his appearance at WrestleMania. Although there are strong rumors about Foley’s appearance, WWE is yet to reveal what they have in mind for Foley.
The same could be exposed in a big angle in the upcoming editions of Monday Night Raw.
There are rumors about Foley getting an enforcer’s role or a special guest role for one of the big matches. After WrestleMania, Foley is rumoured to have his exclusive WWE Network show featuring his stand-up comedy. The show is also expected to launch Mick’s daughter Noelle Foley.
#4 Split announce crew
With the rumors about the potential brand split cooling down, Jerry Lawler has reignited the possibility by saying that there is a chance of WWE having split announce crews for WrestleMania.
JBL, Michael Cole and Byron Saxton currently call the matches on Raw but if they are used along with Jerry Lawler for WrestleMania, it would close the doors for Mauro Ranallo.
Rannalo has been receiving some positive response from the fans and using him as a commentator for a big pay-per-view like WrestleMania would only benefit the whole show. It is not a done deal as of now but if it happens, this could once again stamp the doubts the fans are having regarding a brand split after WrestleMania.
#3 Six-Women tag team match
Lana might have some great amount of heat on her for the incident with Rusev at the Airport, but that is not keeping her away from competing at WrestleMania.
Lana is being booked strongly in the weekly shows and this could lead to her in-ring debut. Currently, the plan is to have a Six-Diva Tag team match at the show, with Lana leading one team and Brie Bella or Paige leading the other.
Lana’s recent association with Tamina and Naomi suggests that they will form one-half of the match whereas Paige, Alicia Fox and Brie could for the other. There are no updates about the inclusion of Natalya, but she could have a major role as well.
#2 Appearance of The Rock
The rumors about how Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson would appear at WrestleMania are still relevant.
Some suggest that he would be playing the special guest referee for the main event whereas others speculate that Rock would simply have a run-in to help his cousin. However, as of now, nothing has been confirmed.
WWE is still in the planning phase when it comes to The Rock.
The good news is that Dwayne would be involved in whatever decision that the company makes which means that there will be a heavy influence from his side when it comes to the mode of his appearance. One other rumor that poked up is about Rock setting up a future match, which is something that the fans would welcome.
#1 Bray may miss WrestleMania
The situation of Bray Wyatt just went from bad to worse as he could miss out on WrestleMania. Bray, who earlier didn’t get a singles match at the pay-per-view, was relegated to the Andre the Giant Battle Royal initially.
WWE wanted to push him big at the battle royal but these plans took a big hit when Bray picked up a back injury.
Meanwhile, for the post-WrestleMania period, WWE wants to push Bray as the top heel in the company. They are planning to have him feud with Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar, but all of this would depend on how soon Bray recovers from this injury.
