The 2022-2023 NBA season will continue on Wednesday (November 9) with 26 teams set to play. Take a look at three strong player props for tonight, including Kevin Durant, Luka Doncic, and Bobby Portis.
NBA Player Prop #1: Kevin Durant Over 31.5 Points (-120)
Kevin Durant is averaging 31.0 points per game for the season, but he has not scored more than 30 points in his past three games. The Brooklyn Nets star has been mired in a "slump," averaging 27.0 points per game over that span, after averaging 32.5 points per game over his first eight contests.
Kevin Durant has, however, scored at least 32 points in six of eleven games this season. Expect Durant to take advantage of a struggling New York Knicks defense that ranks just 22nd in opponents points per game and 16th in defensive rating. With co-star Kyrie Irving out for the game once again, look for Kevin Durant to take over against the Nets' cross-town rivals by scoring at least 32 points.
NBA Player Prop #2: Luka Doncic Over 34.5 Points (-120)
Luka Doncic has had an incredible start to the season. The Dallas Mavericks star is leading the league, averaging 36.0 points per game through nine games played. Furthermore, Doncic has scored over 30 points in each game and at least 35 points in six of nine games, including his past two.
Doncic will face the Orlando Magic, who have struggled on defense, ranking 23rd in opponents points per game and 25th in defensive rating. Furthermore, when Doncic played the Magic earlier in the season, he erupted, shooting 17-26 from the field. While Doncic shot just 2-9 from three-point range and 8-14 from the free-throw line, he was able to score a season-high 44 points.
After shooting just 23.7% from three-point range through his first seven games, Doncic has seemingly found his outside shot, as he is up to 53.3% (8-15) over his past two games. Expect Luka Doncic to once again take advantage of Orlando's defense by scoring at least 35 points.
NBA Player Prop #3: Bobby Portis Under 20.5 (-120)
Bobby Portis has had a strong start to the 2022-2023 season, averaging a double-double for the first time in his career. He has not, however, been a threat on a big offensive night. With ten games played, Portis is yet to score more than 20 points in a game this season.
Facing an Oklahoma City Thunder team that has been solid defensively, ranking 13th in opponents points per game and seventh in defensive rating, that should be expected to continue. When the teams met last week, in Portis' only start of the season, he was able to score just 12 points. Look for Bobby Portis to score less than 21 points in this contest.
