The Atlanta Hawks are coming off an impressive 108-98 win against the Orlando Magic, where their backcourt duo of Dejounte Murray and Trae Young put on an absolute show.
Murray has been sublime for the Hawks ever since his arrival in the offseason from the San Antonio Spurs. In his last game against the Magic, Murray lit up the stat sheet across all metrics. He ended the game with 20-9-9 splits and 4 steals.
Over the opening two games of the season, he is averaging a whopping 4.5 steals a night, coupled with 20 points and 10 assists. Hawks’ forward, John Collins, has also had a bright start to the season, averaging 23.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 2 steals per game.
The Hornets have had a tough start to the season, losing their last game 112-124 against the New Orleans Pelicans. The absence of star man LaMelo Ball has been a major factor in the Hornets' struggle this season.
Melo picked up his ankle injury during one of the preseason games and was expected to return against the Pelicans after missing out in the opening encounter, but his injury layoff has been extended indefinitely.
Last season, LaMelo averaged nearly 20-7-8 in the 2021-22 regular season, getting his maiden call-up to the All-Star game. If the Hornets are to get back to their winning ways, they need to either figure out how to replace LaMelo’s output, or get him back fit as soon as possible.

Charlotte Hornets vs Atlanta Hawks Best Pick
The Hawks have been tremendous this season, going 2-0. Their backcourt performances have been quite spectacular. Trae Young is once again grabbing the headlines with two statement performances. His combination with Dejounte Murray has also been amazing thus far.
The Hornets' defense was not able to keep the Pelicans quiet, and it could be the case in this game as well. Young is averaging 24 points and 13 assists a night this season at the time of writing and should continue that standard tonight as well.
Trae Young; Points: Over 25.5 (-110)

Charlotte Hornets vs Atlanta Hawks Final Prediction:
The Hornets are short on quality with their main threat, LaMelo Ball, missing with an injury. It is still unclear whether he will get any minutes in this one, but even if he does, we cannot expect the usual brilliance from him.
The Hawks have begun the season in style and look like they could make it a 3-0 run. They have fielded a very strong starting five over the past two games, which is far superior to that of the Charlotte side. The Hawks should be able to win this one.
Atlanta Hawks: -10.5 (-109)
