Florida Gators vs. Oregon State Beavers Key Stats

Florida is scoring an impressive 80.4 points per game, and their star, Colin Castleton, is eighth in the nation with 22.4 PPG. Castleton struggled from the field in the loss to Xavier, as he shot just 5-for-14, but he did chip in with ten rebounds, four assists, and four blocks. A lot of the Gators' offense runs through the 6'11" senior, but Belmont transfer Will Richard has been excellent so far also, averaging up at 14.8 points per game. Richard is also a solid rebounder at his size (6'4"), averaging 5.0 boards after averaging 6.0 last year at Belmont. The Gators' point guard, Kyle Lofton, leads the team in dishing at 4.2, and the St. Bonnaventure senior transfer has averaged 5.2 assists in his college career, so look for him to be Florida's main playmaker this season.

Oregon State's point guard Jordan Pope is just a freshman, but he already has been their best player this season. He's averaging 15.2 points per game, and through five contests, he's amassed 14 or more points every time he's taken the floor. He's also been a pest on defense, tallying 1.8 steals per game. Outside of Pope, sophomore Glenn Taylor Jr. averages 14.4 points, and Dexter Akanno is at 11.0, both taking on much larger workloads compared to last season. The Beavers do most of their scoring within the three-point arc, and they're shooting a concerning 26.1% from deep, which is a number that desperately needs to improve. They do

Florida Gators vs. Oregon State Beavers Betting Prediction

Oregon State played a tight, defensive game against Duke, and despite being huge underdogs, they were able to come within three points of the #8 ranked Blue Devils. As good as Castleton and the Gators' offense is, they will be playing on zero days' rest, and the Beavers block 5.2 shots per game. Also, with the game in Portland, expect many Beavers fans to be in attendance, which should help the underdogs here.

Expect Florida to win, but look for Oregon State to cover, and also anticipate a low-scoring contest as three of the Beavers' four games have gone under this year.

Prediction: Oregon State +14 (-110) & Under 139 (-110)
