Charlotte Hornets vs Miami Heat key stats
The Hornets are going through a terrible patch of form. They have lost seven games on the trot leading up to this one. Their latest loss came against Miami themselves in their doubleheader opener last night. After going 3-3 early in the season, their lack of squad depth has been exposed. With their star player LaMelo Ball still out with an injury, they have been getting outplayed regularly. In their loss against the Heat, they were poor from the free-throw line, only converting 60% of their attempts. It was Kelly Oubre Jr. who led the scoring for the Hornets with 29 points. In the absence of Ball, Oubre has stepped up massively for the side and has contributed with remarkable consistency.
Oubre Jr. was outstanding against the Miami side, scoring his season-high 29 points. He has averaged 18.4 points per game this season, the highest in the Charlotte side. He has been particularly efficient in the last game going 55% from the field and 54% from the deep. With the rest of the team struggling for form, Oubre has taken the scoring mantle on himself and has produced great performances. It was his fourth 20+ point outing and is on track to have the highest-scoring season of his career.
The Heat side have blown hot and cold this season. Having won five of their opening 12, the Miami faithful are left expecting much more from their side. Considering the fact that the majority of this side comprises of the roster that finished as runners-up in 2020, Miami are capable of so much more. Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler were superb in their last game. Adebayo registered a triple-double, with 18 points and 14 rebounds. The major difference between the two sides in that game was the Heat’s free-throw accuracy as they outscored Charlotte 29-12 from the line.

Jimmy Butler has once again shouldered the responsibility of the team. He has led the Heat in scoring, averaging 22-6-6 on 60% true shooting. One of the best forwards in the division, he started the season in sluggish fashion but has picked up the pace ever since. He produced a monstrous 35-piece in the last game, which was his first 30+ point game this season. If he continues this form going forward, the Heat can surely improve their overall record and go above .500.
Charlotte Hornets vs Miami Heat Final Prediction:
This should be a comfortable victory for the home team. They are much stronger as a unit, and their key players such as Bam and Butler are playing well. Charlotte have been on a terrible run of form and are really low on confidence. They have only won one of their last 10 which is not a situation they would want to be in. Miami should cruise to a win.
