Houston Rockets vs Minnesota Timberwolves key stats
Simply put, the Rockets have been woeful. They have the worst record in the NBA this season going 1-8. Limited business in the offseason has meant, the young core takes the bulk of the burden and carries it forward. But their roster hasn’t been able to do so, considering the level of opposition they have faced thus far. Ever since their season opening win against the Jazz, they have lost five games.
The Rockets have one of the worst offensive records in the NBA this season. They are putting up the second to least amount of points (107) per game and have the worst FG% (41.8). The only player on the roster with a decent return so far has been Kevin Porter Jr. He is averaging around 20.4 points a night coupled with five assists.
It was a disastrous shooting performance once again in their latest loss against the Clippers where they made 29% of their attempts from beyond the arc. In addition to that, they turned the ball over 19 times in that game, which isn’t acceptable at the highest level.

The Timberwolves, on the other hand, have been solid, but not quite where they want to be considering the moves they made in the offseason. They are currently 4-5 and are coming into this game on the back of three consecutive defeats. One of their main issues has been scoring. They have managed to score 120+ points on just two occasions this season. With the talent that they have on offer, they should consistently be outscoring their opposition, but that isn’t the case.
Rudy Gobert was brought in to be an additional outlet to score in the paint, but that hasn’t come to fruition, considering he is scoring only 12 points on average. Karl Anthony-Towns and Anthony Edwards have had solid starts, but Minnesota needs more from their forward duo to take the team forward.
Houston Rockets vs. Minnesota Timberwolves Best Pick:
Anthony Edwards is the top-value pick for this game. A dominant driver of the basketball, he has converted almost 47.5% of his field goals this season. He is one of Minnesota’s leading scorers, averaging 23.2 points per game.
Over the last five games, however, he has picked up even better form, averaging around 26 a night. Playing alongside some of the better players in the league, Edwards has the potential to become one of the best two-guards in the NBA.

Houston Rockets vs Minnesota Timberwolves Final Prediction:
This one is as one-sided as it gets. The Timberwolves haven’t been great, but they are quite superior to the Rockets. Gobert and Towns should dominate the likes of Sengun and Green, enabling Anthony Edwards to take over. The Rockets are in for a sorry show and could be handed another massive loss.
Minnesota Timberwolves: -8 (-113)
