Los Angeles Clippers vs Houston Rockets key stats

The Rockets are currently in terrible form, having only won one of their last seven games. Their opponents tonight have already beaten them twice this season. The last time the Rockets lost to the LA side, the scoreline read 109-101. They come into this game on the back of a 119-106 loss against the New Orleans Pelicans.

Not many defenses in the league can keep up with Zion Williamson, and that was the same case last time out as well. The young duo of Jabari Smith Jr. and Alperen Sengun were left helpless against Williamson, as they scored only nine and six, respectively, while not being able to restrict Zion. Williamson ended the game with 26 points. It was a valiant effort though by their star man Jalen Green, who scored a whopping 33 points on the night with a sizable contribution from his backcourt partner Kevin Porter Jr., who chipped in with 23 points of his own.

As highlighted previously, the duo of Green and KPJ have been incredible for the Rockets this season. The two prodigious guards are combining for a total of 41 points per game for the Rockets. They are doing so in a very efficient clip making 41% of their field goals and on average 36% of their three-pointers put together. With the overall squad depth that the Houston side have got, they do not look to be challenging for the playoffs, but the signs are very positive with their young side performing so well together.

The LA side come into this game on the back of a 95-110 loss against the Brooklyn Nets. Statistically, they are still the worst offensive team in the division, scoring the fewest points per game of any side in the entire NBA this season. Paul George once again led the scoring for the LA side with 17 on the night. It was a terrible shooting performance by their star guard as he went 5-21 from the field.

George has been incredibly consistent for the Clippers this month, winning them four of the six games that they played in November. Their loss against the Nets was George's first game with less than 20 points this month. Overall this season, he is averaging nearly 25 points, six rebounds, and four assists on 58.2% true shooting.

Los Angeles Clippers vs Houston Rockets Final Prediction:

The Clippers are prime favorites in this one. The Rockets have been on a terrible run this season and have struggled massively in defense. With such an inexperienced defensive core against them, the likes of Norman Powell and Paul George could run riot, having already beaten them twice this campaign.

Los Angeles Clippers: -5.5 (-108)
