Senior El Ellis currently leads Louisville in scoring at 21.5 after exploding for 29 last game. Ellis averaged just 8.7 points last year, but he's sure to see a lot more looks this season as the Cardinals' starting point guard. During the 2021-22 season, Louisville didn't have a single player average double-digit points, but since they've lost several key players, expect the scoring attack to be less balanced. In addition to Ellis, Jae'Lyn Withers, Mike Williams, and Brandon Huntley-Hartfield will be counted on to carry the Cardinals. At the moment, Lousiville hasn't gotten to the free throw line a lot, and a high percentage of their points have been unassisted. They are favored over the Mountaineers, but so far, they've lost two one-point contests, and in both games, they were favored.

Appalachian State's Tyree Boykin and Terence Harum lead the way scoring-wise, and even though both don't have much experience, they're expected to be key players. In addition to these two, CJ Huntley and Donovan Gregory should receive a heavy minutes load game in and game out. The Mountaineers beat a Division III school in their opener by 68 points, and they followed it up with a tough OT win. Their three-point shooting has been great so far, so we'll see if they can keep that up tonight.
