Kansas City Roos vs. LSU Tigers Key Stats
The Roos have already opened their season as they lost to the Lincoln Blue Tigers 59-54. They were unable to keep the pressure on in the second half as they were outscored 33-21. A big reason was their inability to shoot as they were just 21-of-54 (38.9 percent) from the floor and 5-of-25 (20 percent) from three. They have a brand new coach with Marvin Menzies now patrolling the bench as the man in charge. Their former head coach, Billy Donlon, was a defensive-minded coach and now that intensity is no longer there. Senior guard Shemarri Allen led the team as he finished with 14 points, five rebounds, four assists, three blocks, and a pair of steals in the game.
The LSU Tigers are expected to have another solid season, but have a lot more variables this season than normal. Head coach Matt McMahon will be the coach this season as he comes from Murray State and is bringing three players with him from that team, including OVC Player of the Year senior forward KJ Williams. Sophomore guard Adam Miller is recovering from a torn ACL and his production will definitely help later in the season as he fully heals. He comes with an impressive 154-67 record as a coach and should help take LSU to the next level.
Kansas City Roos vs. LSU Tigers Betting Prediction
LSU has a lot of question marks heading into this game regarding how they will look with a completely new coach and roster, but one thing seems certain: they will cover the spread against the Roos. The Roos are not a good offensive team and do not have the talent to keep the Tigers in check.
Prediction: LSU Tigers -22 (-110)
