The Penn State Nittany Lions will be hosting the Michigan State Spartans on Wednesday in an-all Big Ten affair. The Spartans are on a two-game slide at the moment, putting their record at 5-4, while the Nittany Lions are down to 6-2 after last Tuesday's loss overtime loss to Clemson. Michigan State has won three of the past four head-to-head meetings, but this is an improved Penn State squad, so we'll see what tonight's matchup brings us.

Michigan State Spartans vs. Penn State Nittany Lions Key Stats
Michigan State has had a tough schedule, but they've also underperformed up to this point. Senior Tyson Walker has taken full advantage of his bigger role this year, and he currently leads the Spartans in scoring (14.4), and he ranks second in assisting (4.0). He's joined in the backcourt by A.J. Hoggard, who is tied for ninth in the nation with 6.3 assists per game. He is committing a lot of turnovers (3.6), and his efficiency hasn't been great, but he's still one of Michigan State's key players moving forward. Joey Hauser has also taken a leap, and the big man leads the team in rebounding (6.8) while also averaging a solid 13.2 points per game. The Spartans have shot it well from deep, but rebounding has been an issue in addition to their efficiency within the arc.
Penn State lost a high-scoring overtime affair to Clemson previously, but they'll look to bounce back tonight. The Nittany Lions rely heavily on threes, as they take 30 per game and convert 40.4%, the 13th-best percentage in the nation. Jalen Pickett, their senior guard, is one of the best players in the country, and he's currently posting averages of 16.1 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 7.6 assists. He has several high-volume shooters around him that make his life easier, too, in seniors Seth Lundy and Camren Wynter. Penn State does a poor job at crashing the offensive glass, and they have no interior defensive presence. So far, their offense has been able to carry them to a 6-2 record, so expect them to jack up a ton of threes as they've been doing all year.
Michigan State Spartans vs. Penn State Nittany Lions Betting Prediction
Michigan State has been up, and down this year, and against the spread, they're just 3-6. They have covered four of six on the road, but they've dropped five in a row versus teams with winning records. Penn State, on the other hand, is 5-2-1 ATS, and they've covered 13 of their last 16 home games. Expect the home team to win and cover tonight. Also, look for the total to go over since neither team is amazing defensively, and both teams shoot it well from deep.
Prediction: Penn State -3.5 (-110) & Over 136.5 (-110)
