NBA Best Bets for Tonight: Milwaukee Bucks, Phoenix Suns, and New Orleans Pelicans

Milwaukee Bucks v Minnesota Timberwolves
Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo

The 2022-2023 NBA season continues on Wednesday (November 9) with 26 teams in action. Take a look at three team bets for tonight's action, featuring the Milwaukee Bucks, Phoenix Suns, and New Orleans Pelicans.

NBA Best Team Bet #1: Milwaukee Bucks -2 (-110)

Despite losing their last contest by nearly 20 points, the Milwaukee Bucks have been the best team in the NBA this season. The Bucks' stifling defense is ranked first in the NBA in both opponents' points per game and defensive rating, leading the team to a 9-1 record. They have been able to overcome an offense that has struggled compared to the previous seasons, ranking 19th in both points per game and offensive rating.

Milwaukee will visit the 4-6 Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday. The Thunder are currently in the midst of a three-game losing streak that includes a 14-point loss to the Bucks in which Giannis Antetokounmpo didn't play. Oklahoma City's offense, currently ranked 23rd in points per game and 27th in offensive rating, simply doesn't have the firepower to keep up with the Bucks.

With Giannis expected to take to the court on Wednesday, look for Milwaukee to once again shut the Thunder down. Expect the Bucks to win by at least three points.

NBA Best Team Bet #2: Phoenix Suns ML (+100)

The 7-3 Phoenix Suns are currently tied for the second-best record in the Western Conference. Their defense has been among the best in the league, ranking second in opponents points per game and third in defensive rating. Their offense, despite struggling and scoring just 88 points in their last game, ranks 15th in points per game and sixth in offensive rating.

Their opponent, the Minnesota Timberwolves, have been quite disappointing since acquiring Rudy Gobert and entering the season with high hopes. The Timberwolves are just 5-6 and have struggled on both sides of the ball. In their previous meeting with Phoenix, Minnesota lost by nine points. While the Timberwolves may play a better game on their home floor, expect the Suns to once again walk away with the win.

NBA Best Team Bet #3: New Orleans Pelicans -2 (-105)

The New Orleans Pelicans have not gotten off to the start that they hoped for, sitting at just 5-5 after ten games. Three of their losses, however, have come in overtime. While New Orleans' offense has been great, ranking first in points per game and fifth in offensive rating, their defense has struggled, ranking just 20th in opponents' points per game and 17th in defensive rating.

The Pelicans will visit the 6-6 Chicago Bulls, who have struggled offensively, ranking just 18th in both points per game and offensive rating. While the Bulls defense ranks 10th in opponents points per game and fifth in defensive rating, they should struggle to slow New Orleans down. Expect the Pelicans to win this game by at least three points.
