The Thunder are on a bit of a roll. After losing their opening three games of the season, they have bounced with a couple of wins on the spin.
Even in the games they lost, the margin of defeat was very slim. They have steadily built up a very exciting and competent young core of players capable of reaching the playoffs. The Thunder beat the Clippers twice on the stretch in as many games, doing so without shooting well.
The Thunder have only made 30% of threesthey have attempted this season. Only the Orlando Magic and the LA Lakers have a worse efficiency from beyond the arc. Having been one of the better offenses in the NBA, this statistic is a bit concerning for the Thunder.
Let’s talk about the upside. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has been phenomenal this season for the Thunder. Averaging nearly 30 a game, he has been carrying his teamto the finish line almost single-handedly. He has well and truly carried his team, as their next-best scorer is Tre Mann, who has nearly 15 points per game.

The Mavericks, meanwhole, have a mixed start to their season, winning two and losing two games. They have been terrific in offense, averaging 120 points per game They have the second-best 3-point shooting efficiency in the league.
Most of the burden in offense has been shouldered by the one and only Luka Doncic. The Slovenian world-beater has surpassed his lofty standards this season. Over the first four games, he's averaging a stupendous 36 points in addition to nine assists and as many rebounds on 60% true shooting.
The more you read into it, the more his stats sound ridiculous. For anyone to average these sorts of numbers would be unreal, but for a guard - it is almost unheard of. The one concern for the Mavs is the lack of secondary scorers in the starting five. The next best scorer after Doncic is Christian Wood with 20 points a game off the bench.

Oklahoma City Thunder vs Dallas Mavericks Best Pick
Being one of the best all-round guards in the world is one thing, but being as good as Doncic is another.
Doncic has been tearing it up in the NBA, putting video-game-like stat lines regularly. This season, he has been averaging a high number, which if he keeps up, would be one of the highest in modern-day NBA history.
Luka Doncic: Points: Over 30.5 (-125)

Oklahoma City Thunder vs Dallas Mavericks Final Prediction
On form, both teams are quite evenly matched, but the Mavericks are marginally better.
On paper, the Mavs have much more quality, with the likes of Wood coming off the bench and averaging around 20 ppg. Then there is the Doncic factor. If their star man is on song, very few teams can stop OKC.
Dallas Mavericks: -10 (-110)
