The Florida State Seminoles will play host to the Purdue Boilermakers on Wednesday Night at the Donald L. Tucker Center. These schools have had very different seasons so far, as the Boilermakers, ranked #5 in the nation, have started off a perfect 6-0, whereas the Seminoles have an ugly 1-7 record here in the early going. This matchup is a part of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge, and exactly a year ago, these teams squared off, with Purdue winning comfortably, 93-65.

Purdue Boilermakers vs. Florida State Seminoles Key Stats
Purdue has been pretty solid offensively, and their main playmakers, Ethan Morton and Braden Smith, have been key contributors. Morton only averages 4.7 points per game, but he leads the team in dishing with 5.2 assists per game. Overall, the Boilermakers are averaging 16 dimes per contest to just 11.3 turnovers. Their leading scorer, 7'4" center Zach Edey is up at 21.7 points per game to go with 12.0 rebounds, the fourth-best rebounding average in the country. Edey was reliable last year, but so far, he's taken a huge leap and is the favorite for the Wooden Award, which is given to college basketball's best player each year.
Florida State is averaging just 66.1 points per game, which ranks 302nd in the country. They've shot poorly from the field and from deep, but it's also very concerning that they're one of the worst rebounding teams in the nation. They rank 343rd in this category, and they boast just one player that grabs over 4.4 rebounds. They do have a 7'4" player themselves, with sophomore Naheem McLeod in the middle to match up with Edey, but McLeod, along with the Seminoles' other bigs, will have their hands full. Florida State does have four double-digit scorers, but they'll all need to be efficient and effective tonight to have any chance at winning against one of the best teams in college basketball.
Purdue Boilermakers vs. Florida State Seminoles Betting Prediction
On paper, Purdue is the much stronger squad, but matchup-wise, Florida State won't be overwhelmed by Purdue's size. The Seminoles are 1-3 at home so far and 1-3 against the spread while at home, whereas the Boilermakers have won and covered all of their games away from home this year. Back the #5 ranked school here to keep rolling behind Edey.
