Toronto Raptors vs Oklahoma City Thunder key stats:

The Raptors have been in fine form over their last six games, winning four. They have won some of those games by a huge margin, beating the Spurs by 43 points and the Hawks by 30.

They come into this game on the back of a 116-109 win over the Houston Rockets, following up from a 111-97 defeat against the Bulls prior to that. They were brilliant against Houston, as OG Anunoby and Fred Van Vleet led all scorers on the night.

Anunoby ended the game with 27 points, 10 rebounds, three steals, and one block. VanVleet led all scorers with 32 points in that game. He has been phenomenal recently, ever since Pascal Siakam’s injury layoff.

Over the last three games, VanVleet has averaged 30-6-4 with two steals and a block per game. He has registered two thirty-point games over the last three, not missing a single free throw in the process.

He has been very efficient from deep this season, making almost 38% of his attempted threes thus far. After a sluggish start to the season, last season’s all-star VanVleet has picked up form at the best possible time.

The OKC side have hit a down patch. They started the season brilliantly but have now lost four on the bounce. Even though three of those four losses have come against the Giannis-led Bucks and the Jokic-led Nuggets, there are causes for concern.

The Thunder comprise of the youngest roster in the NBA and considering that statistic, their season hasn’t been shabby at all. But with the performances that they have put in, they deserve a lot more than being a below .500 side at this stage.

They come into this game on the back of a very close 132-136 loss against the Bucks which went to a double OT. It was a Shai Gilgeous-Alexander masterclass that set the score so close for the Thunder, or else it would’ve been a blowout.

Shai has been one of the best players in the entire NBA this season, putting in one monstrous performance after another. He is averaging nearly 32 points a game, coupled with 6 assists and 2 steals a night. He has been very efficient as well, going 54% from the field and with a TS% of 63%.

Toronto Raptors vs Oklahoma City Thunder best pick:

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has been a revelation this season for the OKC side. He is by far their most influential player and has established himself as one of the very best guards in basketball.

He has been incredibly consistent this season, registering 30+ point games in all but three games this season. He also has a free-throw accuracy of nearly 96%.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander- Points: Over 27.5 (-125)

Toronto Raptors vs Oklahoma City Thunder Final Prediction:

The Toronto outfit are huge favorites in this game. They have been in excellent form over their last six games and even more encouragingly, they have coped with the loss of Siakam to injury really well.

The Thunder have come close to winning lately, but they have been over-dependent on Shai’s inhuman heroics, and even his sublime form doesn’t seem enough at the moment to grant them a win.

Toronto Raptors: -5 (-110)
