Kyle Daukaus was touted as a hot prospect when he joined the UFC as an undefeated rising star in 2020. Needless to say, he hasn't quite lived up to the hype and is coming into tonight's fight off the back of a brutal KO loss to Roman Dolidze back in June.
His opponent tonight, Eryk Anders, is in a similar position and is currently on a two-fight losing skid. The first of these defeats was an armbar submission loss to Andre Muniz at UFC 269. Anders followed it up with a controversial split-decision loss to Park Jun-yung back in May.
Needless to say, both of these fighters are in dire need of a win to stay relevant in the UFC's dangerous middleweight division.

Anders vs. Daukaus Tale of the Tape
Eryk Anders is a fine wrestler with respectable cardio and mobility. Arguably his deadliest weapon is his left hand, though he's been unable to utilize it all that well in more recent fights. Daukaus, meanwhile, is gifted when a fight goes to the ground thanks to his Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
Daukaus will have a two-inch height and a one-inch reach advantage over Anders. Neither difference is really sizable enough to provide Daukaus a notable edge on the feet.
Eryk Anders vs. Kyle Daukaus Prediction
Kyle Daukaus has a superior win-loss ratio coming into tonight but has visibly struggled in recent years bar his incendiary showing against Jamie Pickett back in February. His ground game is exceptional but he's proven more than once now that he can be caught on the feet.
Anders, meanwhile, has seen better days at middleweight. His decision win over Darren Stewart at light heavyweight had many expecting him to move up a division permanently to help spare his body from punishing weight cuts. Instead, 'Ya Boi' returned to middleweight and hasn't won a fight since. Despite being the better-rounded fighter, Anders appears to have lost a step, and can get caught on the ground as seen in his submission loss to Andre Muniz.
Both fighters may opt to play it safe tonight given their recent setbacks, and a slower-paced fight plays right into Daukaus' grappling game.
