The Magpies accepted a bid of what’s thought to be around £19 million last night for the Frenchman from Paris Saint-Germain. He has been brilliant this season, scoring seven Premier League goals. The Frenchman has fallen out of favour at PSG due to recent signings and is set to move further down the pecking order due to the imminent arrival of Cabaye. He has scored just twice this season. Borussia Dortmund have emerged as surprise leaders in the chase for Tottenham midfielder Lewis Holtby. The 23-year-old has fallen out of favour at Spurs due to the wealth of competition in the centre of midfield and looks set to leave the club imminently. Schalke were leading the way to sign Holtby but Dortmund are now ahead as they prepare a £5 million bid. Holtby has scored just one league goal for Spurs – a last-minute winner vs Fulham. Stoke City are launching a £10 million bid for Sunderland pair Lee Cattermole andSteven Fletcher. With Sunderland fighting against relegation, it is believed that Stoke are preparing to lure them away with promise of guaranteed Premier League football next season.
