Arsenal will battle Serie A giants Juventus for the signing of attacking midfielder,Jeremy Menez. The Frenchman has fallen out of favour at PSG due to recent signings and is set to move further down the pecking order due to the imminent arrival of Cabaye. He has scored just twice this season. Borussia Dortmund have emerged as surprise leaders in the chase for Tottenham midfielder Lewis Holtby. The 23-year-old has fallen out of favour at Spurs due to the wealth of competition in the centre of midfield and looks set to leave the club imminently. Schalke were leading the way to sign Holtby but Dortmund are now ahead as they prepare a £5 million bid. Holtby has scored just one league goal for Spurs – a last-minute winner vs Fulham. Stoke City are launching a £10 million bid for Sunderland pair Lee Cattermole andSteven Fletcher. With Sunderland fighting against relegation, it is believed that Stoke are preparing to lure them away with promise of guaranteed Premier League football next season. Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has admitted that he’s preparing for a disappointing end to the January transfer window. The Reds are yet to sign anyone and missed out on Mohamed Salah last week as Chelsea signed him. Rodgers led Liverpool to the top of the league at Christmas and they currently occupy fourth place, despite having a thin squad. Javier Hernandez’s most likely destination should he leave Manchester United would be to French club Monaco. Despite injuries to Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie, Hernandez has fallen down the pecking order at United with David Moyes preferring Danny Welbeck. Manchester City have entered the race to sign highly-rated Atletico Madrid winger Arda Turan and may steal him from under the noses of Liverpool. The Turk signed a new deal at the club earlier this season that increased his release clause from £20 million to £33m and the Reds are thought to be preparing a late bid. Arda has completed 27 take-ons in La Liga this season and assisted two goals. (Daily Express)

Despite significant interest from Chelsea, Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos has declared that he may be interested in signing for Manchester United. ”I am unable to rule anything out,” the German said.
