Arsenal,on the other hand still looked dangerous with Fabregas till now the best Arsenal player on field putting in some neat crosses ,testing Tottenham defenders Gallas and Kaboul on their feet. But Fabregas soon turned villian, carelessly handling a free kick form Van der Vart ,resulting in a penalty for Tottenham, with the former coolly converting it to bring Spurs Level.
The game had clearly taken a full cycle now. Arsenal though shocked tried a quick come back.Fabregas ,in an attempt to rectify his mistake, shot an excellent right footed curler, but the 5 foot 7 inches Gomes kept it out with a brilliant save.
