It was a moment of glory for the Indian poker community on Sunday at the Resort World Manila when Adda52 Team Spades pro Amit Jain took down the APT title event 8 with the top prize of $13,980. This is the first overseas title for Amit and also the biggest prize for the Indian squad in this tour.
The $440 NLH event started at 3:00 PM local time on Saturday and was played down to the final table. As reported by OPN, Amit finished the day in chip lead position with 294,000 chips to start the final table battle the next day. Speaking with OPN at the end of day’s play, Amit expressed his determination to win this title which could be a booster to start the main event battle. It was also his wedding anniversary for which he wished to gift the title to his wife.
Amit returned back on Day 2 of this event to play the final table game. The whole Indian poker community started railing Amit on social media sites. Amit popularly known by his online alias bblacklegend amassed a monster stack by eliminating opponents in the race to the title. In the final hand pocket, Jacks did the magic for him winning the title.

In his first Manila outing, Amit won the APT title taking home $13,980. It would be noteworthy to mention that Amit finished in the money in the OFC Pineapple event the day before NLH event. With 3 more days and 4 events remaining in this season of APT Philippines, we can expect the Indian squad to bring home more APT title. Team Spades pros Kunal Patni and Aditya Sushant were running deep on day 2 of the main event at the point of this writing.
