Micromanagement. That has been the bane of many a great venture. When you have a juggernaut on your hands you don’t want a control freak at the helm.

Pat Riley recognized that. With LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in the lineup, all he needed in a coach was someone who would just get out of the way and let the players play.

Pat went on an epic quest to find someone to coach the team who knows all about coaching such a team: nothing.

His epic quest began and ended in 5 minutes, in the Miami Heat basement where a college kid was doing video analysis.
