Mumbai based Businessman Saurin Shah, the nephew of BCCI vice-president Niranjan Shah, was in the headlines in July for takeover of English Premier League side Blackburn Rovers, he wants to be a partner of Venkateshwara Hatcheries(VH Group) in their bid to takeover the EPL club.
It was Saurin’s idea to takeover the EPL side but they wanted the financial backing of someone for which they contacted Anuradha Desai, chairperson of VH Group. Saurin wanted them to be working as a team. But now as the VH group are almost close to confirming the takeover by itself without Saurin Shah, he feelt dejected. Saurin however didn’t want to go legally against Venky for this issue. He said that he doesn’t intend to break Venky’s deal but wants to be a part of the deal.
The club is based in Lancashire which has a huge Asian contingent which is why it is seen as a bright prospect for marketing. With EPL’s such following in India, it might be a huge hit.
Saurin claims that he along with his uncle Mr. Niranjan Shah, worked tirelessly to compile precious information regarding the takeover of the club. They then contacted Venky’s for going for a joint venture but Venky’s turned their back on him. Saurin even claims to have signed a MOU(Memorandum of understanding) with Venkys.
Saurin does not want to fight with Venkys right now and wants to be a part of the takeover. If something does not materialize, then they might think of legal challenge against the Venkys.
