Few athletes can rise to the occasion and be called the best in the world but for Usain Bolt and David Rudisha, they have earned every moment of their greatness. Their tenacity and resilience is unmatched and they have the ability that most athletes lack, the ability to do it again.
Rudisha broke his own world record for the third time pushing him into the annals of history as the greatest 800m athlete of all time. His success on track is unmatched and even as the Red Army of Kenya seems to be facing a jinx, Rudisha’s star shines on and is ever bright.
Usain Bolt too has silenced anyone who had doubts in him, anybody who thought Bolt could be beaten, thought wrong. He ran with the pace of a champion and proved that he is the undisputed King of the track in 100 and 200 meters. Being the first athlete in history to retain the 200 meters title, he has proven that he has no equal in the events. Bolt is the leader of the Jamaican contingent, a role he has stuck to and done so well and it seems he is not going anywhere anytime soon.
The two Kings are definately the best in the world at what they do and they are not relinquishing those titles soon. Though Rudisha is calm and collected and always seems to set his eyes on the price, it is the antics of Usain Bolt that set the two apart and makes him more of a celebrity. As the curtain closes on London these two men will go down in history for electrifying performances.
