Buying untested players will do Chelsea good

Regardless of our poor performances throughout the recent weeks, its nothing but the game of football. Sometimes you played your best but don’t get good results.

This makes me wonder if the only missing link for the club is some other playmaker to come in and support the likes of Mata, Luiz, Sturridge and co.

My main point though is this. Before Chelsea secured the signature of Mata, its had never come into my mind that he is such a wonderful player. You don’t need to buy players that are highly expensive, as more often then not after buying them they give poor performances to the team.

Most of the players that play very well right now are were not world class players before, eg Drogba, Ramires, Ivanovic, Sturridge, Luiz, Lampard, Mikel and even Cahill to be fair.

We need to buy players that we can develop into our own style of play, rather than going for stars like Modric, Hulk, Higuain, etc. Those players have already adapted to their own various clubs styles of play, and they may not perform as much as their price tag suggests.

So I urge Chelsea to buy players that have not been tested at the highest level of the game, and they will be willing give their best when its required of them. We should remember that the most famous transfers of ours have not worked out at all. Shevchenko came and went with a whimper and now we have the under performing Torres. I do hope he adapt to our style of play but when we do sign new players it’s time Chelsea let go of some players like Malouda, Ferreira and Bosingwa.

And while you’re at it AVB, bring back Josh to to mix it with the players next season!
