Following her silver medal victory in the Women's10m Air Pistol event, India's first-ever World No. 1 shooter Heena Sidhu continued her dominant run with a gold medal in the Women's 25m Air Pistol event.

After a dismal show in the precision qualifiers stage, where she finished 7th, she came back strong in the rapid shooting stage where she picked 293 points to qualify to third place with a total score of 579, one place behind India's Annu Singh.

In the finals, Heena led all the way through as she asserted her dominance in each round with a show of precision and concentration to finish with a score of 38 out of 50, claiming the record for the highest score in the event's history at the Games.
