#3 Sanjeev Rajput - Men's 50m 3 Position Rifle Shooting
On the penultimate day of the competition, Sanjeev Rajput blazed through the finals stage to clinch a gold medal and set a new record for the highest score in the event in the history of the Commonwealth Games with a mark of 454.5.
Sanjeev made a mark in the qualifying stage itself with a strong showing of 1180 that saw him crushing Gagan Narang's qualifiers record of 1166 which was set in 2010. With a total of 391 in the kneeling category, 399 in Prone and 390 in Standing, Sanjeev qualified on first place.
In the finals, the 37-year-old excelled and maintained his grasp of the lead with consistent shows as he finished with a total score of 454.5, comfortably erasing the previous record of 452.9 which was held by England's Daniel Rivers from the 2014 Glasgow edition of the Games.
