As Chelsea fans, we expect a fair few rumours to appear during the course of a season and especially during the summer and the winter transfer window.
One of the rumours that HAS appeared before, seems to have surfaced again this morning regarding the future of Marouane Fellaini of Everton.
He has been linked with a move away from Goodison before but it seems that he has become an important target for Roman Abramovich this summer. The Mirror in England, has posted an article this morning stating that Chelsea are prepared to offer around £20m for him and Everton, with their financial situation, would HAVE TO accept.
I am just wondering if this is the right move for Chelsea?. The paper describes him as a “midfield enforcer!” but I beg to differ.
With all new signings, you look for players to come in and improve our squad. You look for someone to come in and give you a better option compared to what you already have. With Mikel, Lampard, Ramires, Essien and Meireles all battling for a potential TWO positions in RDM’s 4-2-3-1 formation, where would Fellaini fit in?
I can understand the signing of Eden Hazard as we have no option wide left as Juan Mata will play through the middle and I can understand the potential signing of Hulk to replace Didier Drogba and play on the right hand side with Fernando Torres as our main striker now. These players improve on what we have. Fellaini doesn’t for me.
So that’s where I am at with this at the moment. Am I right to think that way or do you have a different opinion?
KTBFFH!
