Commonwealth and Paralympican champion Natalie du Toit met Nelson Mandela in 2008. The South African swimmer, counted Mandela as one of her admirers after her fatal injury that left her with an amputation of her left leg at the knee. Among the first people to recognize her feats was Nelson Mandela after representing South Africa in her comeback in the 2004 Paralympic games.
